HELLO! Okay so today I finally had an OB appointment (only my second one so far because of insurance crap). Anyways, this is how things went (daddy-to-be was with me for everything which was awesome)::
- I was sent to pee (this was the only part I was alone for, lol)
- Talked to the doctor's assistant about what was going to happen during the appointment
- Doctor came in and asked some family medical history questions because my other doctor hasn't sent over my records yet
- The doctor left and I got to put on those fun little paper clothes, lol. My fiance made jokes about it, of course. lol
- The doctor came back in and I got to hear the baby's heartbeat again :)
- She did a breast exam, did a couple of "routine" swabs and a PAP. Then she checked my cervix. Everything was doing a-okay.
- The doctor left and I got back into my real clothes, lol.
- When the doctor came back, I got a whole bag of goodies like magazines and pregnancy info. She asked me if I wanted to do the quad screen test and I agreed. Then she told me she wanted to see me back in a month and she wanted me to go for an ultrasound this week and I would have to go downstairs to make the next available appointment for that (this was the most exciting part for me!)
- The assistant took a vile of blood. Quad-screen results come back in about a week and she said they will call me if there's something wrong. If I don't hear from them by Wednesday, she said to go ahead and assume all is well and she will see me at my next appointment.
- They gave me a couple of sample packages of chewable prenatal vitamins we had talked about (because the vitamins I have now are horrible to have to swallow) and then I was sent to make my next appointment (April 11) after which I went downstairs to make my ultrasound appointment..
- Okay - so the best part of this is...I HAVE A 4D ULTRASOUND TOMORROW AT 9AM!!!! I WILL GET TO FIND OUT THE SEX AND EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOOHOO!!! **not so good part - I have to drink LOTS of water before the appointment without peeing, lol.
I am so excited!!!!!!!!! I love this doctor! The last doctor I went to didn't seem friendly at all. He was male, the office was much busier. When I heard the baby's heartbeat, I asked if I could go run and get my fiance from the waiting room and he told me "if you hurry" and he seemed very apathetic about everything. He was really rude and so were all the receptionists. This office was completely opposite of that. They made me feel at home and were all very sweet! I am very happy! I will be posting pics.
Q: Should I have to bring anything to be able to get pics of the baby?? I've heard of some people bringing a blank disk or something. Should I bring one just in case? Or do they normally just print them out or...I dunno, lol?
