I have about one month left until I return home, which I am not really looking forward to very much. Returning from three days in Milan (which, if Los Angeles is the Plastic Asshole of the World, must be the rectum) and Venise, I realized I've started thinking of Chambéry as home. I enjoy the solitude and the vantage point of the cultural outsider.

But I've also learned that very few places are that different. Every culture, no matter what international reputation, is filled with people. And people are, basically, the same. France has some of the most conformist attitudes I've seen, most of the youth easily separable into the chic-techno camp and the reggae-hippie camp. Little good room for a t-shirt and jeans kind with a shaved head. So I just go to the jazz club.

I'm pretty sure I had a point to make, but now I'm drifting aimlessly.

I have many wonderful plans for wen I get home, but I have a long history of unfulfilled objectives and I'll have to force myself to actually get things done. Many ideas in the little black notebook.

And I get to go to Sweden at the end of the summer.

Livejournal is a weird little public forum, isn't it?
