Concert Pics

So, on Friday I went to see The Young Veins at the Martini Ranch in Scottsdale, and it was awesome! Bad Rabbits were hugely entertaining, The Young Veins were great, and I got to meet maple_mahogany, sneaky_sena, shihadchick, and katrin (and also Maple's sister, who was very cool, but not on LJ). It was fantastic to hang out with these ladies, and downright inspiring to see how much conversation time they got in with the members ot TYV. I was exceedingly peripheral to all of these conversations, but it was great fun. :D And I took pictures during the concert!

There were kids front and center who were just freaking out about Ryan and Jon. It was hilarious. Ryan said hi to some of them during set up.

Nick Murray setting up his drums.

Random suitcase with a horse on it that shihadchick and katrin said I should take a picture of:

Despite the fact that he was mere inches away from me, it was really hard to get a good shot of Nick White. Probably because I didn't want to use the flash and be responsible for blinding the keyboard player mid-concert.

I felt like much of the onstage chemistry was between Ryan and Jon; they talked mostly to and about one another. But I really dig this shot of Ryan and Andy.

I named this pic Zombie Ryan.

Andy Soukal. I know this isn't a very good pic, but it's proof that I at least tried to take pictures of people other than Ryan Ross.

Redeye aside, I like this picture.

Aaaaand more Ryan Ross.

If you look closely, you see that this is Andy, Ryan, and Jon. All three strings in one shot. (Best I could do from my angle at the side of the stage.)

Jon Walker sang two songs, which made me happy. He ruthlessly did so way over on the other side of the stage, which did not.

And again, trying and failing to get a decent shot of Jon.

Nick Murray. He hung out after the set, also, and was generally super nice and adorable.

Frustrated with my camera fail, I finally just took a shot of Nick White with my phone.

Andy, looking artistically blurred. :o)

More Ryan.

And after the set, I got proof that Ryan Ross has no ass.

We were standing right up against the stage, stage left, which was a good place for seeing the guys but not a great place for hearing them. Still, our location meant that we were able to grab the setlists off the stage, and that every time Ryan looked over to see who was watching from Foxy Shazam and Bad Rabbits, he appeared to be looking right at us. At one point, Maple and her sister inserted themselves very smoothly at the bar next to Ryan and so were party to the hilarity of Ryan getting carded. I had a blast talking to our little cadre of fangirls and lurking on the edges of the band interaction.

It was a good night! :D If anyone wants any of these pics in the higher res, non-color corrected form, let me know, and I'll email.
