Normally I take the train and walk my house -> train and train -> along the waterfront to work.
This week, I've driven in on two days because there's a limit to how wet/cold I'm willing to be when sitting still at a desk all day*.
On days when it's not as bad as this I'll get the train and walk up Featherston from the train where there's cover.
* When I was shepherding it didn't matter because I was moving and stayed warm. Now, if I get cold/wet, I stay that way all day. I've yet to find wet weather gear that works effectively with town clothes.
my commute really isn't that far so assuming that i choose the right coat, and i've got a couple of different ones, i'm usually not all that damp when i arrive.
which reminds me, i really should get my other rain coat out of storage now that autumn is settling in
When it gets bad, I take the bus. On those days I hear people complain that service is crowded and slow, so I assume I'm not alone in that choice. I also choose routes with more cover when rain/wind is heavier.
