someone posted some ZOMG DRAMAZZZZ! that really ticked me off, and i'm finding it difficult to keep my mouth shut about it.
out of respect for the person who didn't want the drama or negativity on his own post, i'm posting about it here - and publicly, in case the people who are spouting the garbage want to read it. and yes, i'm leaving my journal defaults intact - so only friends of my journal can post directly. everything else is screened until i decide to let them stand in public or not.
first off, i TRULY don't care about any club vs. club drama in dallas. i just DON'T.
but what offends me is that you are spreading lies about people who are MY FRIENDS. and i don't mean the clubs or the promoters, i mean the BAND!
you can say whatever you want about clubs trying to "scoop" other clubs - but you're telling garbage about my FRIENDS in abney park, saying that they "sold out" to the higher bidder, and screwed your other club over.
that is simply NOT TRUE.
they never agreed to do the show at the lounge until the other event was CANCELED. they don't run around trying to get more money from other venues, or sit back smoking cuban cigars waiting for higher bids. they had a deal with one club first, and they were planning to stick to it - but THAT DEAL FELL THROUGH. then and ONLY THEN did they agree to the other club's offer.
if you don't like it, that's really your problem. just quit making unfounded statements against the BAND when you don't know all the details.
and trust me, i *DO* know all the details on this one. these aren't people i met once who were a band, these are FRIENDS OF MINE that i know PERSONALLY who happen to be in a band. i know the details of this deal from the ROOT SOURCE, not from some stupid dallas goth drama rumor mill that twists everything to make one group or another look like jerks.
