Sian sat on the sofa, the interview had gone well she started playing with the remote control, it had taken her a while to figure out which control was for which electrical appliance, she had turned on the tv and then pushed a button on another control which clicked on the fire, she pushed the volume of the tv she thought and the apartment exploded in a twenty decibel noise of Tatu’s song “All the things she said”. Sian had settled down with a pot noodle and a glass of wine when she heard a noise at the door, Sophie opened it and in walked Sophie with a woman, tall, blonde and attractive. “Katie, this is Karen” Sophie said winking at her, “Nice to meet ya” Sian said realising that Karen must be a policewoman too. “Sophie what were you saying about drink drivers” Karen said ignoring Sian, “Oh just what a waste of resources” she muttered, she noticed that Karen ignored Sian, not a good move she thought. “Well it’s late” Sophie yawned, “Mm do that again sometime” Karen said, and before Sophie had chance to protest she kissed her on her lips.
Sian felt angry, annoyed and not just at being ignored, she couldn’t care for Sophie like that could she, may be she did. Sophie broke the kiss “Bye” she said closing the door. “Oh thank God that date’s over” Sophie said drinking a glass of water “Talk about annoying”. Sian laughed, “What ya watching?” Sophie asked sitting next to Sian on the sofa, “A horror movie about a deranged psychopath”, Sophie laughed “Cool, my day off tomorrow can I watch it with you?” Sophie asked pulling the duvet over them both, Sian shifted so that Sophie had space and Sophie leant back against Sian in her arms, “Sorry if this is awkward..” Sophie said realising what she was doing “No it’s okay” Sian protested enjoying having Sophie that close to her again.
As the movie got to a scary part Sian noticed that Sophie had fallen asleep, she looked down at her, her hair a little over her face so Sian carefully moved it away, she smiled as she felt Sophie shift in her sleep and stiffened when she realised that Sophie’s hand was now resting on one of her breasts, Sian lifted her hand gently and manoeuvred it away, her heart rate suddenly increased as Sophie turned over with her face inches from Sian’s. Oh god, Sian thought her lips are right there why do I have an urge to kiss them, Sophie subconsciously licked her lips and as Sian went to throw caution to the wind and kiss them her police radio burst in to life.
“Shit, sorry” Sophie said realising her position, she grabbed her police radio “Constable Webster receiving over” Sophie said pulling on her boots, “Disturbance in the town centre by RSVP club” Sophie looked at Sian who seemed awfully quiet, “Yep e.t.a ten minutes” Sophie said grabbing her jacket, as she went to leave she turned back to Sian, “Duty calls, oh and sorry if I made you nervous or anything” Sian shook her head “You didn’t Soph I..” she started to say “Sorry hun, tell me later okay” Sophie said closing the door. Sian thought back to what almost happened, “Oh god” she said aloud, “I think I’m in love with Sophie”.
