Two entrys in two days! I think I must be ill. *g*
Bec: I don't remember seeing your mum or collecting any condoms from anyone actually *g*.
I spoke to my Grandpa Roscoe last night and my Nan had the barium meal test yesterday. They are pretty sure what it is now, although we'll have to wait for the proper confirmed results of the tests. She has a hernia that she knew of already and they think that a portion of her small bowel (I think) has become twisted into this hernia therefore causing a blockage. The barium dye they use seemed to stop at this point and it is the area where she has been getting the most pain. I'm glad that we have a better idea of what's going on now and it's a relatively easy think to treat I think. :)
Today I'm going sitting in on a paediatric outpatients clinic. I am dressed completely inappropriately in my sleeveless t-shirt and combat pants! Oh well, if she doesn't let me in she doesn't let me in, there's not much I can do about it now! Should be good though. My essay is on 'Ethical issues in neonatal medicine' and I'm either going to do it on drug abuse in pregnancy and the resulting issues of child abuse, the numbers of children who are left handicapped after being resuscitated before 24wks or the few cases of foetuses who have survived abortion and the ethical dilemma that it brings about. It's daunting but should be a good project.
