Just got back from Clarkson University ^^ I was checking them out :P Im thinking of going there ^^ its in Potsdam, Ny. For those who dont know where that is, its in upstate new york, so very hard to get to.

Hey Ally, I just saw your post over on genderqueer, came over here and saw you mention Clarkson. It's a nice place...of course I'd have to say that having graduated from there myself. ^_^ I ended up with a Physics degree by the end of things though I was waffling between E.E. and Physics for awhile. I grew up in NH so the drive really wasn't bad at all--I did the diagonal-through-VT and across-the-top on NY route.

During the time I was in Potsdam I really wasn't aware of any GLBT groups locally but I sure wish there had been some. I was going through, back then, pretty much what you are experiencing these days. It took me a whole lot longer though to find information, figure out what was going on and finally transition though. < sigh >

nice! ^^ My dad also went there too (he was class of 78). We did the drive up through Lake Placid/Lake Sarnac and the drive home through Tupper Lake and that area. My dad says that the "New" dorms were New when he was there XD lol

Hmmm...yeah, I guess everythiing gets to be a bit relative. Which dorms did he end up at when he was there? The Pit? or Quad? Or even better, ask him which was Dorm 5 and which was Dorm 6. ;D

heh. he said he got the quad freshman year, the "new dorms" for the first semester of his sophomore year, then he went into Tao Epsilon Phi

Ah the quad (Ross 3 for my freshman year actually)...but then pledged TEP eh? Hmm...I was almost tempted to try pledging but 'just really didn't fit it with that crowd. I'm not sure how well a transperson would have really worked out in such a place. I didn't get off campus until my senior year, but sophomore and junior were in Ormsby and VanNote. It was great. I liked how the "new" dorms were set up as opposed to the quad.

Ahwell...but I did finally get to dressing a*lot* more once I got away to school. I wonder what's up there for support now? I'm going to be in Potsdam this September. Hmm...actually a girlfriend of mine (lives in Bawston) went to RPI. That's another good school. Well, it's hard to say that since we're such hockey rivals! ~_~
