Happy Birthday to me..........
Today is my birthday and I have reached the grand old age of 38. Of course I firmly believe that age is just a number and since my brain still feels 16, all is good. Of course I wish I still looked the way I did at 16 but hey, can't have everything!
Of course my birthday is extra special this year because I am sharing it with my American loved ones and although I miss Rich, I haven't been with Pam, Mark and the kids for so many years to celebrate a 'special' day I am just loving it.
I have balloons. No one is ever too old for balloons! Not to mention a joint party for Pam and me is happening tonight. I get to see Pam's brother Tim and his wife Debbie which will be amazing as I haven't seen them for over five years.
Rich called me early this morning and gave me all the news from home and he is going to see George later to give him cuddles and kisses from his Mummy. :-)
We went out for dinner last night and had the most fabulous meal. I started with an unknown experience - butternut squash soup and Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm just yummy! I am wondering if I can reproduce it back home because it was one of the nicest soups I ever had. Followed that with fillet of beef in a mushroom, wine sauce with fall veggies (squash, parsnip and carrot) and buttery mash. I am determined to just enjoy today and tomorrow as my time to leave for home is really creeping up on me. I can't believe how fast the days have gone and I STILL have a season and a half of 'Office' to watch. Better get back to it.
