Happy Halloween and other stuff in my cauldron!

I feel very put out that I am working tonight. Usually I take my triplet neices and nephews trick or treating but I have had to pass the honour to someone else this year. I have seen them in all their costumed cuteness though. Abby is a devil (very apt!) Sophie is a witch (always the traditionalist and Josh is a dead pirate (not sure where that one came from if I'm honest!) Anyway they all look fab and are ready to go faraging for goodies!
Didn't go up to George this morning but had planned not to. I have another 12 hour shift today and I am being careful not to relapse. So I had a nice lie-in then spent time getting my final bits and bobs done for my ever-looming America trip.
Have booked a hotel at the airport and arranged my insurance. I've never risked going without insurance and I was thankful for it a few years ago when I wound up in the hospital with suspected meningitis. I didn't have to pay anything as I was fully covered but I did get to see a copy of the bill sent by the hospital after the claim went through. It cost $32,000!!!!!!!!!! I would literally have had to sell my house to pay for it without insurance and can never understand why people risk going on holiday without insurance.
To cover me for this trip ($3,000,000 medical, $1,000,000 liability and £500 lost baggage) has cost me a measly £9. Money well spent imho. So I am all set and trying to keep my excitement in check!
I work today then have three rest days, work wednesday through saturday, have sunday off then work monday and tuesday. I can cope with that!
In the meantime I have to go to the opticians for new glasses, get my hair cut (I grow it long every year then around my birthday donate it to 'locks of love') and have to prepare for a pre-birtday evening for a few friends.
Busy times but busy is good. :-). Have a great Halloween all!
