as much as i've decided i hate school, this week has been pretty silly. sexual reproduction is the topic of my microbiology class and anatomy 2 class. quotes of the week:
my microbiology teacher *mind you is very monotonous when he speaks* "quick girls, let's think, ovulation, how many times in your lifetime? *silence* ok well say 12 times a year for 30 years, that's like 250 a couple hundred right? and the chance of fertilization of actually occurring during ovulation is ASTOUNDING! and if you don't think ovulation is incredible, LET'S TALK ABOUT EJACULATION! well, not for too long. but guys, guess how many sperm you have in one ejaculation? just guess! 100,000. that's on a good day..."
my anatomy teacher *who has been teaching 20 years* "hahaha, i'm sorry you guys, every time i say vagina, i have to laugh...and who do you think named that area of the vagina the vestibule? you know the vestibule of a building is "the welcome center, right?" you know it was some latin MALE. you know it... and a vasectomy takes pretty much all of this out. now, not the whole thing, because if you took that off well, it wouldn't have a blood supply and it would die and fall off then wouldn't it? now i'm sure someday you would all like for that to happen, but as for now, it just removes the vas deferens. so this is pretty much the best way of birth control, just so you know...i had my husband get it done."
i can't wait for human sexuality :)
alkaline trio and against me! tonight, score.
