this weekend has been the best week of my entire year. it was exactly what i needed. i missed squirt so much and without dana traveling with me i probably wouldn't have made it. everything that has been bothering me the last few months; school, transferring, work, next year all melted away hanging out with squirt and dana.

on thursday dane and i left from rhode island to philly. on the way to our gate, we saw nick lachey. no lie. we walked by him atleast 5 more times and he was on his cell phone the whole time with his entourage. we saw his 98 degrees barbwire like tat on his right bicep. he noticed us looking but kept chatting away. i didn't wanna be the bitch who just kept staring and flashing pictures. so we went to our gate and we were supposed to leave at 5:30. we didn't depart until 7:15 i think. we arrived at philly at 8:05 and all the gates were occupied so we waited 10 minutes in the middle of the landing strip. we had 10 minutes to get to our next get before our plane which we would have had an hour to wait for left... 10 minutes. they didn't tell us what to do about our luggage because there were so many connecting flights so i ran down to baggage to find out if they put it on the other plane and i ran back up to the terminal to meet dana but i gave him my boarding pass. needless to say it was 8:45 and i ran almost a mile back and forth between gates because us air is a bunch of assholes and wouldn't let me enter anywhere without my pass and they kept telling me the plane already left. i was hysterical and finally made it to the gate. found out the other plane was delayed until 9:15, but dana wasn't there. i freaked out. he ended up going down to baggage to find me knowing they didn't put it on the conveyers. he was going through customs again and we made it as the last people boarding. i was crying and hyperventilating because i cant remember running that much since ever, and i never would have known what to do if we didn't make it, or if i couldn't find dana. so in conclusion we vowed never to fly us air again because they were assholes.

so we watched the sun rise from above the clouds. that was pretty sweet. when we arrived, i saw squirt waiting with tears and we hugged and cried. it was sweet.

after getting situated in the hostel, which was sweet also, we saw the surgeon's museum, the british museum

saw big ben

and the london eye

west minster abbey

and bought alcohol down the street which was weird because even though i'm a year from being legal it still seems taboo. so we enjoyed ourselves in our hostel and crashed.

saturday we woke up and saw buckingham palace

went shopping at notting hill market, went to a mass at st paul's cathedral and trekked 800 something stairs from the floor to the top to see an awesome view of london

when we got down our legs were shaking so bad. even into the night. it was funny. we went to oxford circus and bought more presents and underwear from h&m only because the underwear sections at our h&m are put to shame by theirs. and then we got dressed up and went to see the producers which was amazing.

we bought posters, which i hope didn't get lost because our luggage did, but i'll get to that. we drank and took fun pictures. we called them fanny pictures which i guess means vagina pictures in england so that was a laugh.

sunday we went to the london aquarium next to the thaymes river

and got day shots of big ben, and the london eye. we saw turtles mating. it was pretty funny. squirt took pictures and a video. we re-enacted it later that night

visited the national film theater, saw a very cool tsunami memorial

and went to see an imax movie about the ocean and its inhabitants

oddly enough one of the girls working there was from framingham. weird. we went to the london dungeon which was this really funny silly awesome haunted house but it had real history to it. it was like the houdini ride at six flags but much longer and better and funnier. they accused me of calling the kind a baboon in 1500 something so they took me to court and i plead insanity and had to jump around like a monkey. good times. we took an awesome picture which can be viewed later. and we saw the tower of london and the tower bridge at night.

and we got locked in our hostel room. that would have been an adventure had we let a very buzzed squirt hop a fence in her jammies.

monday we headed to liverpool/ormskirk where squirt's school was and met all of her friends, had some laughs, took silly pictures

i temporarily broke a toilet

and me and squirt cuddled

we woke up at 6 am to head out to get our train to the airport which ended up being first class

mind you 6 am there was 1 am here, so we had been travelling since 1 am and we got home around 8 pm. sweet 20 hours of being up travelling.

after paper work and them going through my shit all because of a plastic set of pirate gear, squirt saw us off, cried a little, and headed home

trying to think positive we let the us airway assholes take us where need be, but the crew out of london was amazing. we got our bags in philly and i got sushi and scared dana back into making him think i'd miss the plane home. we were the last ones boarding. i'm a jerk. but it wasn't intentional. they took their sweet ass time making the roll. it was alright. my juice was $2.70. welcome back to the us...

and all was well arriving rhode island. no nick lachey, no giant magazine with zach braff :*( *i bought one on the way out and left it on the plane, they had a full spread of him and everyone from scrubs all beaten up it was amazing and when we came home they put out a new issue* we met dana's dad and waited for our luggage forever until we discovered they lost it. the first time i had been right on the trip, i called this back in manchester because i didn't trust us airways would get us home without a hitch. but atleast i had my presents as carry on and i didnt have to do laundry, but they haven't arrived yet. i am going to write quite the letter to them. but we are home, safe and i slept like 11 hours which was nice. but now the stress of school is back, the anxiety of transferring and the unexcitedness of work is all coming back in waves. i wish i stayed in england

they are so charming and nice and wonderful. but its good to be home.
