i hate my job
an appropriate title for my most recent entry. i think my current job is going to ruin my young life. it makes me so depressed and frustrated and sore. today i dealt directly with a woman going through the last "stage" i guess you'd say of alzheimers. this normally nice tall big woman is sweet and cooperative, almost swung at me and a nurse today. she's a house. she could fucking destroy me. she threatens, she gets crazy eyes and becomes an unreasonable bitch. i felt like crying today, but i held it back because 1. its unprofessional to cry at work 2. i can't get upset over what an old woman whose mind is wasting away says to me. sadly she doesn't even know whats going on, so in a way i can understand the threats and bullshit that comes along with the transition, but i don't want to put up with it. its frustrating, its dangerous and its upsetting. i like a lot of the residents there, but its hard to establish meaningful relationships with elderly when they don't remember one thing from another 5 seconds later. it feels like a waste even trying. i'm anxiously waiting to hear back from baystate. i'll pound on the door if i have to. i just can't find myself enjoying the job anymore. i'm off orientation as of this week and i'll be working less which will have its pros and cons. but i have landmarks to look forward to:

the horrible anatomy exam 2 so once its over i can start making a cake! YES! and maybe mccray's trip with a fun bunch if they don't flake.
