"gather around, gather around..."
saturday night i was girly. silky black halter top, tighter jeans than i normally wear, heels, a little bit of make-up, and even earrings. i learned my brother and his friend have definite opinions on how a girl should look ("are you really going to wear jeans? i mean, a skirt would look nice...", "now, you're hair looks ok curly, but a little girl-next-doorish. can you straighten it?", "maybe that shade of lipstick isn't dark enough..."...jesus!), but i had their seal of approval before i left the house.
i had a very good time at the graduation party. i haven't had a chance to really go out and dance in a long time, and i had so much fun. it's fun to watch boys that can actually dance, and enjoy it too! it just makes it that much better to dance with them. there were, however, a few casualities from the night, and for that i feel somewhat responsible. a backpack with various items of value were left behind when we left the party. hopefully things will work themselves out, and replacements will find their way.
sunday maire and i drove to walnut creek to have breakfast/brunch with julia. it was a great way for me to spend father's day. julia's father passed away a few years ago also, and maire sees her father at least once a week so it wasn't a big deal for her not to spend the day with him. the three of us gossiped about the store, laughed at all of our inside jokes, and did a little bit of shopping (our trip into tiffany's just helped me solidify my...well not dislike, but kinda...for jewelry). and though were tried to stall, maire and i were able to make the trip back to get her to work on time.
then it was time to pick mom up from the airport...the same airport i'd be stopping by the next night to drop phrai and sara off at. it's like i'm a friggin' taxi service. hahaha...naw, i'm just kidding. i very much enjoy picking people up and dropping them off from the airport because i know how much it can suck having to take the airporter.
today i finally interviewed for the manager position. we'll see how it goes. they have two more people to interview from outside the company, and then depending on how those interviews go, i might have to interview with the district manager. nick would like the decision done by the end of the week...i'd appreciate that too. i mean, they first posted the position over a month and a half ago, and they're just NOW getting to the interviews...kinda ridiculous! anyway, wish me luck.
