as if maybe i'm a winner...

this weekend was crazy. friday it was a mad scramble to get the lettering done on the back of my boxing robe (if you EVER need something done, let me know, this lady was incredible), and to get enough tickets for the friends who wanted to come to the fight. i had plans the whole evening to hem my kickboxing pants (since those pants are made for ( Read more... )

Fucking bad ass. I'm proud to say that I am the first to comment on it. Apparently I talked to you on Saturday night. Don't remember. While you were getting prepped for the fight all day, I was drinking. Let me tell you, yesterday was the worst hangover of my entire life. I puked, in the morning. I don't puke, you know that, I hate to puke. Ughh. Enough of that. I'll stop ruining your awesome entry. Congrats though I'm so proud of you. You should do a cage fight, we had plenty of practice in the cage you know. Love ya darlin'

oh honey! i'd say i'm sorry you got so drunk, but i'm sure you had a great time that day/night...the hangover was just payback. or maybe you were having a sympathy hangover for my fight hangover....who knows!

heck yeah cage-fight...j/k. i've seen a few of those, they're freakin' CRAZY. how about i let you know about the next one early though, and you can come to it. i think you'd have a great time being in the crowd.

It's like a bloody movie! Congratulations! You must feel on top of the world.

AD, it's A1. It's Wednesday. How do you feel now? A full good breath after your big fight. I have to say, I'm proud from afar. You and your bad self. (I don't understand your robe name, though...is that slang?)

I am fully expecting (okay, demanding) big long lengthy e-mails filled with juicy gossip and details and all sorts of things, and i highly encourage you to post more as well, including updates on interior design and books and so forth. You were my favorite! Come on, now dear. Wink wink. Take care.

I'm adding to this to say, that knowing my partner for several years now, a fighter himself, I know the days before and after a fight are quite unusual, or unique as compared to other days, both mentally, physically, and hell, emotionally and spiritually, too. it's quite fascinating.

i have to agree. the days before were SUPER stressful. i was just putting SO much pressure on myself to do well. and then afterward, well, you're on this complete high that night and the next day (even though you kinda have a "fight night hangover"). being in the ring definitely makes you consider many things about yourself. your thoughts before the fight, your actions during the fight, and how you react once it's over can teach you a lot.

but i'm doing well, and that makes me feel good.

"the littlest crews" is because i'm the smallest of the crews children in my family. both of my brothers are older/taller/weigh more than i do. it's how i identify myself when i call my trainer, and he can't help but laugh every single time i say it, so i thought i'd be a nice little inside joke between the two of us. it meant a lot to him, but it meant even more to me.
