Hundreds of miles between loved ones cause great panic when you're told "I have to go to the ER" when the attempt is made to reassure you "It's not a big deal I'll talk to you about it at a better time" it simply fails and causes you to worry even more.
Dave had to go to the ER on Sunday. He felt like he was going to pass out. When he was there, they discovered the reason for the sudden shitty feeling was because of this blood clot in his leg that was blocking blood flow to his heart and lungs. Again I'm told, "It's not a big deal. They gave something to disolve it"
Yeah, it IS a big deal. It blocked blood flow to the heart and lungs. (or at least limited it) That's more than a big deal. Hospitals don't perform emergency surgery on somebody's leg simply because they're bored and feel like sticking needles in people. There's also a reason why they made him stay there, laying in a hospital bed overnight!!!
Needless to say, I'm not too happy at the fact that I can't be there to take care of him. Or to help take care of Autumn since Dave is supposed to stay off his leg for a week. How is a guy supposed to take care of a two year old if he's got a swollen stitched up leg!?!
Really, I just hope that he's okay. I hope that his incision heals quickly and that he's only in pain for the very minimum amount of time needed. I hope he's doing okay with Autumn too.
In other news, Kaela's grandmother had a stroke over a week ago. She had been in the hospital on machines and such for about a week. At one point she was only taking one and a half breaths every minute. (barely breathing) Sunday afternoon they took the oxygen off and a couple hours later she passed away. Kaela is handling it fairly well, all things considered. Her grandma isn't suffering anymore. RIP Mrs. Ehret.
