Master Post.

Jack skips his fifth period class.
He knows he'll be worried about getting in trouble for it tomorrow, but for now, he doesn't give a damn.
The majority of it was spent on the hallway floor and the rest in the bathroom crying, cursing his bad luck.
Why did he have to fall?
Why did it have to happen in front of someone?
In front of Alex?
The two things that scare him the most in the same horrible moment.
Could it get any worse?
The bell rings once again, this time for the start of his lunch period.
He debates whether he should even go.
There's no reason to.
He's not hungry and it's not like anyone's waiting for him.
But he doesn't want to stay in the bathroom.
He sighs and opens the stall he'd been sitting in.
As he walks out, he catches a glimpse of his puffy, tearstained face in the dirty mirror. He cringes and hopes no one will say anything about it. Especially Alex or Zack.
He walks down the hallway staring at the floor, trying to avoid attracting attention.
It works.
He arrives in the cafeteria and sits at an empty table in the corner, far from anyone else.
He opens his Science book and starts reading about the lesson he'd just missed.
"Hey, Jack!"
Jack flinches violently, dropping his book on the floor.
"Whoa, are you alright?"
Jack looks up and sees Zack sitting across from him, a worried look on his face.
"I-I'm, um, f-fine."
Zack leans over, picks up the fallen book and hands it back to Jack.
"I'm sorry about that. Did I scare you?"
"N-no.."
Zack looks at him skeptically.
"Are you sure about that?"
Jack nods slightly, not wanting Zack to pick up the fear still obvious in his voice.
"Okay."
They sit in silence for a minute, neither of them having anything to say.
Jack is the first to speak.
"So, um, why d-did you, uh, come over to, um, sit by me?"
Zack smiles slightly.
"Well, I wanted to ask you a question, but you seem kind of scared of me, so I don't know if I should even bother asking anymore.."
Jack looks at him questioningly, wondering what he would possibly want to ask.
"W-what is it?"
Zack gazes at him shyly, a blush creeping up his cheeks.
"I, um, wanted to know if you'd...want to go on a date with me sometime?"
Jack's eyes widen, and he's shocked. He definitely didn't expect this.
Zack looks embarrassed.
"I should, um, probably go.."
He gets up from the table.
"Zack..." Jack murmurs quietly.
He looks back.
"Yeah?"
Jack takes a deep breath.
"Okay."
Zack smiles, grin spreading across his entire face.
"The bell's about to ring, but I'll talk to you tomorrow in math and I'll sit with you again and maybe we can make plans?"
"Um, yeah."
"Bye, Jack!"
"B-Bye..."
Jack wants to smack himself. He doesn't want to date Zack. He doesn't want to have anything to do with anyone. He knows this is going to go terribly, and he doesn't know why he gets himself into these things. He sighs.
Tomorrow is going to be a long day.
