Author's Notes: Third chapter of All Black.
*The day after*
Jack is trying to read People magazine, but thoughts of Alex seem to be all over the page. That kiss yesturday.. I know it means nothing to Alex, but.. I seem to.. want to do it again! But I'm a boy.. and he's a boy.. what should I do? Jack thinks to himself.
Then he hears his mother call his name.
"Jack! Alex is at the door!"
Gulp. I think I should tell him my feelings, I mean, he's my best friend, what would he possibly say?
I suddenly hear Alex's feet stomping up the steps. Then crashing through my bedroom door.
He jumps on my bed. "Hey Jack!!" I hear the excitement in his voice.
I smile a weak smile. "Hi.."
His face suddenly falls. "What's wrong?"
Oh no.. here it comes..
"Alex, I have something to tell you, but I'm scared because there's a thousand different ways you could react, and I'm only hoping for one of them, so-" Jack spills out eighty miles an hour.
"Jack. Tell me. I'm your best friend, I'll understand," Alex tells him truthfully.
"Well... remember how we kissed at the movies yesturday?"
Alex nods.
"It... made something occur to me... That I've never had a girlfriend since we've been best friends. Never wanted to kiss a girl. Never wanted to be in a relationship. It's because.. I love you, Alex."
*Alex's POV*
Woah.. did Jack just.. tell me he loves me? "Is.. is that a joke?" I ask, tears starting to form in my eyes, worrying to death that it'll be a joke.
"No.." he says.
I tackle him and rest my head in his chest.
"I... love you too, Jack."
We lay there, for years it seems, but I don't care, our mutual feelings are settled, and nothing can break us.
