http://turnthepageover.livejournal.com/36869.html I walked into the room, seeing Zack and Rian sitting around Flyzik's living room. I sat down next to Zack, taking my iphone out and looking through my Twitter.
I heard footsteps a few minutes later, and Matt walked in, running a hand through his hair.
"Alright, guys," he started, stopping in the middle of the room and chewing around his lip ring. "We have some serious stuff to discuss."
"What's up?" Rian asked, and Matt rubbed the back of his neck.
"We're supposed to headline a tour in two weeks," he said, setting his binder down on the table. "Now I don't know about you guys, but I think it's going to be a little hard for All Time Low to go out on the road without a singer."
I locked my phone, setting it down on the table to give Matt my attention.
"So... what are we going to do?" Zack spoke up and Matt shook his head.
"I don't know. I think we might have to cancel this tour," he answered and a felt a pang in my chest. We hated canceling shows, let alone a whole tour.
"That sucks," I said, and they nodded.
"This isn't like Alex," Zack said, shaking his head. "He wouldn't want to disappoint the fans and cancel shows. Has anyone talked to him?"
"I haven't," I said, looking to Matt. "Have you?"
"No," he answered.
"I'm pretty worried," Rian said. "Zack's right. This isn't like Alex to just disappear off the face of the earth, and it's definitely not like him to disappoint the fans. I want to know what's going on."
"He wouldn't disappoint the fans," I said, shaking my head. "He'll be back before the tour starts."
"How do you know?" Matt asked. "I can't just count on him showing up when no one has heard from him in about two months."
"It's been two months?" I asked, just realizing.
"Yeah. I guess it's hard to notice your best friend is gone when you have a new girlfriend to fuck," Matt said, and I glared at him.
"Seriously?" I asked and he shrugged.
"I mean, what do you care if Alex is missing? At least you're getting your dick wet," he said, making my blood boil.
"Of course I fucking care! He's my best friend!" I said.
"But your girlfriend is more important," Matt said and I balled my fist.
"Do you wanna keep your fucking job right now?! You're seriously fucking talking to me like this?" I demanded, standing up and looking at him eye to eye.
"Sit down, Jack," Rian said, but I ignored him, glaring at Matt.
"Don't you dare fucking say I don't care about my best friend! I've tried texting him! I've tried calling him! I would write him a fucking letter if I knew where he was staying at. I wish that I knew where he was so I could go see him. It worries me that he's obviously going through a crisis and he's alone; it hurts me that he wants to be so far away from us when all we wanna do is help him," I said, putting my hands at my sides. "So don't sit there and treat me like I'm a shitty friend. I care just as much about him, if not more, than you do!"
Matt made a face, opening his mouth to retaliate before Zack stood up.
"Guys!" he exclaimed, looking at both of us. "Knock it off! You both know Alex wouldn't want you fighting about something stupid like this. You both love him, or you wouldn't be arguing. Now cut it out!"
I glared at Matt, sitting down as Rian tugged on my wrist.
"So what are we going to do?" Matt asked, looking around at everyone else.
"I don't care," I answered, and Matt looked at me with an agitated expression. "I know Alex is going to come back before the tour starts."
He looked at the other two, who looked at each other thoughtfully.
"Why don't we give him another week?" Zack asked, looking back at Matt.
"That's cutting it a little short. What if he doesn't show up?"
"Then we can drop out of the tour for personal reasons. We won't have a choice at that time," Zack answered.
"What do you think, Rian?" Matt asked and he made a face at the cup in his hands.
"I agree with Jack," he answered. "I don't think Alex would disappoint the fans like that. Let's just give him another week to get his head together and come back," he said and Matt nodded.
"Okay, looks like you guys have all decided. We'll give him one more week, and if he doesn't show, we'll have to blame it on his personal issues," Matt said.
"So are we done now?" I questioned, picking my phone up off the table.
"Yeah, I guess," Matt answered, sitting down in an armchair.
"Alright, then. I'm gonna head out," I turned to the others. "See you later. And I'll see you when you're off your freaking period."
I walked out of the room, slipping my shoes on before leaving the house. I got in my car, driving the familiar drive to Alex's house.
I really did miss him. It was crazy to think it had been two months since I had last spoken to my best friend. We had been friends for eight years, rarely ever going a day without talking, and I haven't had any form of communication with him in two months. Something was very wrong about that.
I pulled my phone out of my pocket, finding his number and calling him.
Yo, this is Alex-
I ended the call, sighing and setting my phone down in the cup holder. Just straight to voice mail, no ring or anything.
I pulled into the driveway, killing the engine and getting out of the car. I knocked, opening the door a few seconds later and seeing Cassadee and Aly on the couch watching a movie.
Cassadee glanced over when she noticed me come in, giving me a wave.
"She just fell asleep," she told me, nodding towards Aly and I smiled. I kicked my shoes off, crawling onto the couch with her and cuddling her to my chest. "How was the meeting?"
I rolled my eyes, playing with Aly's hair.
"Flyzik is being such a bitch," I told her and she made a face.
"Sucks," she answered and I nodded, sighing. "What's up, Jack? You don't look your usual chipper self."
"I really miss Alex," I told her and she frowned.
"He'll be back soon," she told me and I sighed.
"I hope so," I answered. "I need him right about now."
