“What are you doing, babe?” Alex asked, throwing a card down as he played war with Zack.

“I’m starting her baby book,” I informed him.

“Don’t you need pictures of her to do that?” he asked.

“We have pictures!”

“Okay,” he said, taking the cards.

“It’s a little annoying that it says ‘Mommy’ on every section,” I told him.

“White it out and put Deedee,” Alex said, smiling.

“I will later,” I said. “My mommy and daddy met…”

“At a party, smoking pot and drinking beer,” Alex answered, and I glared at him.

“I’d prefer not to tell our baby we were potheads,” I told him, writing down at ‘at a party’.

The next question was about choosing a name. I smiled, remembering the number one reason I chose the name Josie.

”You’re such a weirdo,” I told Alex, giggling as he kissed me. “Shouldn’t you be doing homework instead of sexually assaulting me?”

He wrinkled his nose, shaking his head before quickly ducking it and kissing my neck. He sucked on the sensitive skin and my back arched. I moaned, pushing him away.

“Quit,” I told him, and he smiled.

“You’re cute,” he informed me, and I rolled my eyes. He kissed my cheek, rolling over and humming along to the music that was playing. The song changed, and he sat up. “I wrote this for you.”

“Shut up, Alex,” I answered, rolling my eyes.

“No, seriously. Listen.”

He sat up, looking me in the eyes. I raised an eyebrow as he began to sing.

“Yeah, my boyfriend takes me home when I’m too drunk to drive. And he doesn’t get all jealous when I hang out with the guys. He laughs at my dumb jokes when no one does. He brings me Mexican food from Sombrereo’s just because. Yeah, just because.

“And my boyfriend like UL and DHC. And he’s so smart and independent, I don’t think he needs me quite half as much as I know I need him. I wonder why there’s not another guy that he’d prefer.

“And when I feel like giving up, like my world is falling down. I show up at three am, he’s still up watching Home Alone and I see his pretty face, and it takes me away to a better place and I know that everything, know that everything, know that everything, everything’s gonna be fine. I know that everything, know that everything, know that everything, everything’s gonna be fine.”

I giggled, bumping noses with him. He took a breath before starting back in.

“Yeah, my boyfriend takes collect calls from the road. And it doesn’t seem to matter that I’m lacking in the bulge. He laughs at my dumb jokes when no one does. He brings me Mexican food from Sombrero’s just because.

“And when I feel like giving up, like my world is falling down. I show up at three am, he’s still up watching Home Alone and I see his pretty face, and it takes me away to a better place and I know that everything, know that everything, know that everything, everything’s gonna be fine. I know that everything, know that everything, know that everything, everything’s gonna be fine. I know that everything, know that everything, know that everything, everything’s gonna be fine. I know that everything, know that everything, know that everything, everything’s gonna be fine.”

I laughed, sing back to him.

“I know that everything, know that everything, know that everything.”

“Everything’s gonna be fine,” he sang with me.

“I know that everything, know that everything, know that everything”

“Everything’s gonna be fine.”

“I know that everything, know that everything, know that everything…”

“Everything’s gonna be fine!”

I grinned, watching him lean in to kiss me. I wrapped my arms around his neck, feeling my heartbeat begin to race.

I smiled at the memory, looking over at Alex. That was three years ago, and the moment I realized I had fallen head over heel for Alex Gaskarth.

“What?” Alex asked, glancing up and seeing me staring at him.

“Why did we name her Josie?”

“Because I used to sing that song to you when we first got together and I wanted to see you smile,” he told me, and I grinned.

I continued down the line of questions. Some of them seemed pointless, and others were cute.

I felt the weight of the couch shift as Alex sat next to me.

“I can’t believe that six days from now we’re going to be able to hold our baby girl,” he told me, cupping his hands around my stomach. “It blows my fucking mind.”

I nodded, feeling her stretch and roll into a more comfortable position.

“I can’t believe it either,” I told him. “It’s gonna be so much different. In a way, I don’t even want this part to be over. It flew by so fast.”

“It did,” he agreed. “We’re gonna be parents.”

“We are parents,” I told him, grinning.

“Josie,” Alex cooed, putting his hands on my stomach. “We’re gonna meet you in six days, baby girl. I’m so excited to see your adorable face.”

I felt tears prickle my eyes at that moment, a million emotions running through my at once. Happiness, excitement, fear, anxiety, protectiveness, and so many more that I couldn’t name.

I closed my eyes, feeling Alex snuggle into me.

“It’s okay,” he mumbled, kissing my temple.

“What’s wrong?” I heard Zack mutter as I buried my head in Alex’s shoulder.

“It’s hard to explain. It’s just so overwhelming,” Alex said. “When you’re a parent, you’ll know.”

I opened up my journal, searching for the page I had left off on.

It was sort of like a diary I had been keeping since I found out I was pregnant. I wrote down how I had felt that day and what had happened with Alex and everyone else. I’ve never shown it to Alex or May or anyone. It seemed too personal. It was something just between my daughter and I.

I read the entries as I flipped through. I stopped on one that made me smile.

19 weeks and 2 days

Hi, baby girl. Yes, that’s right, baby girl. Your daddy and I went to the doctor’s today and found out you’re a little girl! He’s so excited, baby. You should have seen his face when the doctor told him. He loves you so much already. So do I. We can’t wait to meet you.

I touched the page. That was four months ago. I turned to my last entry, moving onto the next page.

37 weeks and 6 days

Hi, Josie. Six more days before I get to see you, baby girl. I’m so excited. I’m not sure about you, though. You’ve been sleeping a lot today, haha. Maybe you’re getting lots of rest so you’ll be good and ready to meet me and Daddy. That’s probably a good idea. You’re gonna be meeting a lot of new people next week.

I started your baby book this morning. It’s so adorable. I can’t wait to perfect it with pictures of your beautiful face.

I love you, baby. I can’t wait to hold you.

I closed the journal, sliding it under the bed. I got out of the bed, waddling out to the kitchen.

“Babe,” I said, and Alex looked up.

“Yeah?” he asked.

“Can I have a couple pieces of paper?” I asked, and he nodded, ripping out two pages and handing them to me. “Thank you.”

I went back into my room, sitting on the bed and grabbing something hard to write on.

I began writing, stopping when I heard the door open.

“Hey, baby brother,” May grinned, walking into the room.

“Hey,” I said, smiling at her. I closed the letter in a book, setting it down on the floor. “What are you doing?”

“I have had cramps and a headache all fucking day, and have also been craving cheesecake. So…” She sat down on the bed, putting a Dairy Queen bag down next to me. “I figured, why not get some DQ and share it with my equally crampy and hormonal brother?”

“How sweet,” I answered.

“You have your choice between a banana split blizzard, or a Butterfinger blizzard,” she told me.

“Butterfingers are peanut butter, right?”

“Mhmm,” she hummed.

“Go give that to Alex,” I told her. “And I’ll eat this one.”

“Are you sure?” she asked.

“Yes. Tell Alex I’ll stuff it down his pants if he doesn’t take it,” I ordered.

“Will do,” she responded, leaving the room She returned a few minutes later. “He didn’t want it at first, but then I informed him of the whole pants thing, He dug right in.”

“Good boy,” I said, grinning. “You wanna watch a movie?”

“Home Alone?” she questioned.

“You know me so well, Sissy,” I said, grinning and eating a spoonful of my ice cream. She smiled, setting her ice cream down and moving towards the television.

“It is already in?” she asked.

“Of course,” I answered, and she laughed. She turned on the TV, putting it on the channel for the DVD player. She got back on the bed, picking up her ice cream and laying her head on my shoulder.

The door opened, and Alex peeked his head in.

“Hey,” he smiled. “Can I join?”

“No,” May answered. “No boys allowed.”

I laughed, watching Alex pout.

“We’ll watch a movie later, babe,” I told him. “May and I are having sister and brother time.”

“Yes,” May teased. “Go finish that homework you were drooling all over.”

She smirked playfully, and he grinned at her, shutting the door.

Okay, so don't be too mad guys, but the next chapter is gonna be postponed by a week. So it'll be posted two weeks from now. Only because I won't be home AT ALL that weekend because of all the shit I'm doing for Homecoming. I won't tell you what's happening in that chapter, because then you'll be even more mad ;)

Buttttt I did write a dirtysexyhot one-shot the other night. You could go here to find that. Hopefully that'll ease the pain of the wait a little bit.
