I pushed Jack’s bangs away from his eyes, looking into the dark orbs.

“I really like the phrase your mom added above her crib,” I told him.

“She’s really been on my dick about naming her,” he told me. “She asks me, like, everyday if we’ve talked about it.”

“Maybe we should talk about it then,” I said, laughing.

“Well, what do you like?” he asked.

“Um,” I thought, thinking back to my list. “Jasey?”

“Eh,” he made a face.

“You don’t like it?”

“It’s cute. I just don’t imagine her as being a Jasey.”

“Okay, uh,” I bit my lip, thinking.

“Charley?” he asked.

“No,” I shook my head. “Holly?”

“That’s too common. I want her to feel original.”

“Estelle,” I said. “Call her Stella.”

“That’s more like it,” he said, smiling. “Stella’s really pretty. Add that to the maybe list.”

“Okay, so you like Stella,” I said, grabbing a Sharpie and writing Stella down on a random piece of paper I found on his table.

“Josie,” he said, and I laughed. “It would symbolize how we met.”

“How you harassed me for months after dancing with me to a Blink-182 song?” I asked.

“Yes,” he said, smiling. I bent over, kissing him and laughing. I took the cap of the Sharpie, writing it down.

“Just because,” I told him, smiling.

“We could always name her Alexandria or something like that,” he said, and I shook my head.

“No,” I said, shaking my head. I wouldn’t feel right naming her after me when you’re just as much her father.”

“Just keep thinking about some more,” he said, sitting up. “In the meantime, I’m hungry.”

“What would you like to eat, princess?” I asked him, and he shrugged.

“You,” he answered, draping himself over me and pushing me onto my back.

“I’m not on the menu,” I told him and he giggled, kissing me.

I felt buzzing in my pocket, and Jack raised an eyebrow.

“You really gotta keep a vibrator in your pocket? Baby, you know I’ll take care of that for you if you just ask,” he said and I laughed.

I knew Jack was reading over my shoulder, and I could feel his body move away from me slightly.

“Y-you can go if you want,” he said, and I rolled my eyes, closing the hone.

“Why would I go tota party when I could stay here with you?” I asked, kissing his nose.

“You’re still a teenager. And you love parties. I’ll understand,” he said, and I shook my head.

“I’m not just a teenager, babe. And I don’t want to go if you’re not gonna be there,” I told him.

“Okay,” he said, and I sighed.

“Jackary,” I sang, cupping his face. “Smile.”

He gave me a fake smile, and I made a face at him. I pinched his arm and he frowned, jerking away from me.

“A real smile, baby. Show me those teeth,” I said, squishing his cheeks.

He flashed me his teeth before pushing me away and standing up. “Food.”

“No,” I responded, grabbing his wrist and carefully pulling him down on top of me. “Not yet.”

“Baby’s hungry!” he exclaimed, and I cut him off with a kiss.

“You can’t walk walk away from me unhappy. I won’t allow it,” I told him, rubbing my nose against his.

“I am happy,” he said, and I kissed his nose. “Can we go get food now?”

“But, baby! I wanna lay with you!” I whined, gripping onto him.

“Come lay with me on the couch,” he said, trying to stand up again.

“No,” I said.

“Let me get some pizza rolls, Alex, and then we’ll come back upstairs and I’ll snuggle you until you can’t breath. Deal?”

“Fine,” I sighed, letting him go. He stood up slowly, trying to keep his balance. I giggled, slapping his butt as I followed behind him. “You’re so cute.”

“Shut up,” he muttered.

“You are cute! I love your waddle,” I smiled.

“I don’t waddle,” he said, frowning.

“Just a little bit,” I told him, taking his hand as we walked to his door.

“Shut up,” he repeated.

I glanced into the baby’s room as we walked past, smiling.

“I think I should start moving my stuff in soon, huh?” I asked, rubbing his wrist with my thumb.

“If you still plan on telling your dad right after graduation, then it would probably be a good idea to,” he told me, holding onto the railing as he moved down the stairs.

“How many days left?” I asked him.

“Ten,” he told me.

“Really? Damn,” I said. “We’re gonna be seniors for ten more days.”

“Thank God,” Jack said, taking the bag from the freezer.

“It’s kinda weird to think about,” I said. “Bittersweet.”

“I’m happy to leave. My senior year has definitely not been the best,” he said, and I rubbed his arm.

“I’m sorry, baby,” I said and he turned, kissing my gently.

“You didn’t do it,” he said, spreading rolls out on the baking sheet. “Have they been on your dick as much as mine?”

“Just whispers, gossip, dirty looks homophobic shit. The usual,” I said, rubbing his stomach gently.

“Pretty much the same as me, then,” he said, puitting them in the oven.

“I’ll be right back, babe,” I said, stepping away from him. “I gotta pee.”

“Okay,” he answered.

I walked away, moving back towards the stairway. I turned, stepping into the downstairs bathroom and shutting the door. I took my phone out of my pocket, opening it up and finding Zack’s number.

To: Zack
Get Rian and come to Jack’s. Like old times.
Sent: Fri May 25 5:48 pm

I sent it before putting the phone back in my pocket.

I left the bathroom after doing my business. I found Jack in the living room, watching some show on MTV.

“Did you wash your hands?” he asked as I sat down with him.

“No,” I answered, grabbing his face. I rubbed his cheek.

“How nice,” he said.

“Isn’t it?” I asked, running my fingers along his lips. He looked at me with disgust, pulling away. I pushed my fingers in his mouth, laughing when he shoved me away from him.

“Get your fingers out of my mouth! Gross!” he exclaimed, and I laughed.

“That’s not what you said last night!” I told him, moving my hand to rub his cheek again.

“Your fingers were not in my mouth last night,” he said, laughing as he smack my hand away.

“My dick was in your mouth last night,” I told him.

“My dick was in your mom last night,” he said, and I punched his arm.

“Bro!” I exclaimed, looking disgusted before I started laughing.

He wrinkled his nose, laughing along with me.

“I didn’t think that one through very well,” he said and I shook my head.

“No, you didn’t,” I answered, pushing him down so I could cuddle up to him. I felt the baby kick, the force going onto my cheek. “Our daughter just kicked me in the face.”

Jack laughed, playing with my hair.

“Don’t feel bad,. Our daughter kicks me in the gut al the time,” he told me and I lifted his shirt up.

“Hey, princess,” I said, rubbing his stomach. I felt her kick and I smiled. I kissed his lower stomach, feeling her kick back up against my lips.

“Fuck, now you’ve got her started,” he mumbled, making a face.

“Three more months,” I muttered, looking up at him.

“I know,” he said.

The timer for the oven began to beep and I stood up, going into the kitchen to take the pizza rolls out of the oven. I set them on the top to cool as I grabbed two plates. I took ranch out of the fridge, setting the items down on the counter.

“Baby, do you want anything besides ranch?” I asked.

“Ketchup,” he yelled back, and I made a face.

“Alright,” I said, grabbing the bottle out of the fridge.

I carried all of the food out into the living room. I set it on the table, and he leaned forward, taking one of the rolls.

“Good?” I asked and he nodded.

“Thank you,” he said with a mouthful, and I laughed.

“Don’t talk with your mouth full,” I told him.

“Yes, father,” he answered, and I rolled my eyes.

I took one of the rolls, dipping it in ranch and popping it into my mouth.

“There’s someone here,” I said, and he quirked an eyebrow. “I saw them walking up.”

I heard a knock on the door, and he stood up to go get it.

“Told you,” I said.

He went towards the door, opening it.

“Sup, bro!” I heard Rian exclaimed, and I smiled.

“Hey, guys,” Jack said. “What are you doing here?”

“We came to hang out,” Zack answered.

“I figured you would be going to that party,” Jack said.

“What party?” Rian asked.

“Sierra’s.”

“You should know I stay far away from that psycho bitch. After what happened last time,” Zack said, and I laughed.

“Oh yeah. I forgot,” Jack said, laughing himself.

“So can we come in? Or are you and Alex too busy?” Rian asked, and I could hear the teasing tone in his voice.

“No, come on in,” Jack said, and I heard the door shut.

“What’s up?” I yelled as they all walked into the room.

“I’m ready to play some COD and eat some cheesy, greasy pizza,” Rian told me, and Jack made a face.

“Or whatever preggers wants,” I said, raising an eyebrow at him.

“Yeah. We’ll leave that up to Jack,” Zack smiled.

I had my head in Jack’s lap, watching him play against Rian.

“Stop shooting at me! I am not the enemy!” Jack yelled at him, and I laughed.

“Yes, you are, Jack!” Rian said. “We’re not on the same team.”

“But we have the same enemy! And that’s not me!”

“Jack, you don’t know how to play!” Rian exclaimed.

“I do too!” Jack yelled. “Fucker! You killed me!”

He threw the controller down, making it crack against my cheek.

“Ow! Bitchfuck!” I yelled, jumping away from him.

“Oh my god, baby! I’m so sorry!” he exclaimed. “Damn it, Rian! Look what you made me do!”

I put my hand up to my throbbing cheekbone.

“I’m so sorry,” Jack said, kissing the spot quickly. Oh, it’s already starting to bruise. Fuck.” He kissed it again, frowning. “Come on, let’s go ice it.”

He pulled on my hand, bringing me into the kitchen. As he was making an ice bag, my phone started to ring.

“Hello,” I answered.

“Alex, can you come home, sweetheart,” I heard my mom’s voice say.

“Yeah. Is everything okay?” I asked.

“Yes. We just have something to discuss with you,” she said, and my stomach flipped.

“Okay. I’m coming.”
