By your earlier description, I can imagine your dragon friend must be much more intelligent than the ones in my world. They are scarcely able to communicate with humans on even the basest levels.

Have you... tried? Sometimes it's not really obvious. Speaking from personal experience here. You can get the wrong idea. Just a suggestion.
