Looks like someone's prepared for the weather, at least. you can't see his face clearly: he has no idea what the pokégear that he threw on the ground's recording; none of your fancy technology ( Read more... )

. . . And now I'm hearing voices. Uh.

[guess who's pinching his arm now.]

Ow. Yes. I'm new. And very lost. But mostly lost.

That item you dropped - the metal one - it's a communication device. I'm not in your head.

[He looks a bit concerned.] We're all lost, I suppose. None of us know how or why we got here.

Communication device?

[he stands up, and now he's picking up the pokegear, dusting off the snow. aaand looking at the screen] -- Oh. There you are.

Is everyone lost in terms of the exit, too, or is that being too hopeful?

(OOC: ALSO I FORGOT TO SAY: never stay away from me, bby ♥)

[He gives a bit of a nod in greeting as the other person recognizes the wonders of video communication.]

No one knows how to get back to their respective homes, no, if that's what you mean.

(OOC: Oh you know I won't hurhur)

[and what wonders they are. He's turning the pokegear in his hands, wondering how, exactly, it works.]

Oh. Well, yeah, or you wouldn't be here.

[and now he stops turning it.]

. . . How'd you say these things worked, again?

(ooc: ♥♥♥)

[Cooper's just going to go ahead and assume that this guy has never been in touch with any kind of technology, and decides not to say too much in case he just confuses the kid.]

It's a kind of technology I assume your world hasn't invented yet. It allows long-distance communication through either video - when you can see each other on a screen, like we're doing right now - through voice only, or through text.

... Yep.

I can assure you that hasn't been invented. So you're somewhere... far away?

Actually, the city I'm in at the moment is only about a week and a half's worth of travalleing from where I believe you are. We're all in this world, in any case.

Oh, all right.

. . . Admittedly, I'm still kind of lost, but I think I got the basics of that part down. Thanks for the help.

It's not a problem. If you have any questions I'll try to answer them to the best of my ability, but I have a feeling other people might have already filled you in regarding the more critical things you need to know.

Yeah, that'd be great.

[rubs the back of his neck.]

I don't really know where to start.

[Nod.] I can't say I blame you.

This place is called Johto. No one knows how or why we're here, and the locals aren't very informative. Aside from humans, there are various creatures populating this place known as pokémon. We assume we're supposed to train and raise them, but none of us has any kind of knowledge of what we're expected to do here.

If you look in your bag, you should have recieved various items to help you here, as well as a pokémon of your own.

Well, that's not a lot to take in. Just. Give me a second.

[and now he's turning away to look through his bag... and pulling out handbooks, toiletries and... the pokeball, which he's now holding in his hand.]

Huh. What's this?

Absolutely.

[He falls silent, but when the pokéball is shown and the question is asked, he'll obviously answer it.]

That's a pokéball. It cointains your pokémon. You press the white button in the center to release it, and do the same to return it.

That doesn't sound too complicated. Just this button here--

[he's pressing it... and dropping the pokégear in his surprise when the dratini comes out, as expected.]
