Last night
I packed up clothes and toiletries and drove to NJ with Leo, intent on helping my dad drive up to MA and take care of things while she is in the hospital. I came all the way out and offered to take of work just so he wouldn't have to make the 4.5 hour drive alone after a long day of driving to work and back already. But he was stubborn stubborn stubborn and wouldn't let me come. I am insulted by this. He has no idea what's really going on up there and is not acting very responsibly. I felt like asking him whether he could empathize at all with his mother's situation; how would he feel if it were him lying there disoriented and scared? I doubt he would want me to behave like him if the tables are ever turned and he's in my grandmother's position.
