this is probably a really bad idea
I can't write. I don't have any words. They've all fallen out of my body and flown away, and it is terrible. I can't string more than two sentences together before I just lose sight of everything I'm trying to work on, and it's frustrating as fuck and horrible, and I just. Am stewing in my own juices at this point, and it sucks.
There's been talk on spanon about doing an anon critique thing, which I've been proposing for awhile and think is a terrific idea, because I kind of just want to have my ass handed to me. I know that I have some basic skill, and can occasionally turn a pretty phrase or do something really well, but I think I'm intensely inconsistent and way too serious business about most of the things I write, and I just need help at this point, is what I'm getting at. So.
Here is all my fic. If you've been around here for any length of time, you're probably familiar with it, and this is me, pointing to it and asking for some help.
Anonymous comments are enabled (anonymous comments are always enabled), and IP logging is off, and I'm asking:
Constructive criticism of my writing: do you have any? Do you like my writing, and if so, why? If you don't, DOUBLY WHY? What doesn't work? What tendencies bug you? What areas are weak, or over-worked, or stale, or just done? What strengths could be played up more? What needs tweaking? Do you have any exercises or tricks you use to get rid of a block? Any suggestions or help of any kind?
(I have a 15000 fic due in a week, and I'm about 7k words in, and it's gotten nowhere, and I'm just endlessly frustrated, and anything else I sit down to write just is horrible. So I'm asking for any help you have the time to spare. Please and thank you in advance.)
