A few notes: Sorry this takes place in S1, kids. Woman cannot live on S7 and 8 angst alone. I’m pretty sure Nurse Jeffrey wasn’t even a glimmer in David Shore’s eyes in S1, but I needed him for his useful hospital gossipmeister factor.  Extra long sex scene because Syd went on marathon reading and reviewing binge and asked nicely ( Read more... )

SOOOOOOO much fun!

And this feels so organic - as though you have simply provide all of the behind-the-scenes interaction associated with Cameron's request that House take her on a date. And to have Wilson on the prowl, willing to ask out any of the various alternative women: that was VERY funny!

I actually really liked how the dinner date was handled on the show: There really was NO chemistry between House and Cameron (or, rather, it really was one-sided daydreaming - but even that bit was not convincing), but one got to see that House was a man who tried hard to keep his side of a bargain (hence the corsage, and the choice of Spiletto's, etc.) but when push-came-to-shove he was honest with her, and was clear about the fact that he would never be into her. It was obvious that he needed someone with more spice (and although I did like Stacey, Cuddy was a much better match).

So I love the way in which you show him making his approach to Cuddy, and persuading her to have dinner with him - but choosing to invite her into his space, rather than take her out to the impersonality of a restaurant, and how she is also making her move.

And your final scene is so writerly: Cameron observe and dissecting from afar, rather than going into details, and direct commentary from our two favourite protagonists. Makes it more fun :-)
