I feel for Cuddy because she thinks they are in a happy place but it's not enough for House. Naturally, he has this instinct of trying to protect her, especially since she's that tiny woman who triggers this caveman machoism even more. But apart from that, it's often been proven that Cuddy is his only key to real happiness which automatically makes her more valuable to him than anything else. Maybe he just freaks out at the thought anything could happen to her or, even worse, that he could lose her and there's nothing he can do about it because his bum leg holds him back. And if that fear wasn't already implanted in him, this park situation brought it to life for sure.
I'm with suzmum on the speculation if his insistence to go through the treatment alone and the spectecular consequences are really only due to the Ketamine treatment or if he's been lying to her, because it is one his favourite hobbies to jeopardize his happy place this way ;)
I hope for the best, I'm prepared for the worst. Bring on part deux!
