Title: Open Your Heart
Pairing: Bruce Patman/Rorie Walker
Summary: Rorie Walker wasn't your typical rich girl. She was exactly the oppisite and she had given up on love knowing that it just wasn't for her but upon meeting Bruce Patman she began to wonder if she's met her match or if is she going to end up like the rest of them.

Au Note: I love sweet valley high and Bruce was always one of my favorite characters and I wanted to write a story about him that showed a different side of him that we rarely saw but you will see the personiality that we love too! I do hope you enjoy and please tell me what you think.

Sweet Valley, California.

Rorie's POV

"Sweetheart, you will love it here."

I sighed. "That's what you always say."

"Your mother is right, you will."

"How would you know?" I muttered to myself as we pulled into the driveway of our new house. I was ready to get out of this car and experience sweet valley for myself and ready to get away from my workaholic father who could've cared less about the two fo us, all he cared about was his repuatation and his money.

"Finally, I get out of here."

"Tired of me already?"

I snorted as my dad smiled at me and I ignored him and walked into my new home, a three story brick manison with a pool in the back. It looked much like my old home in Minnesota, thinking of it made me miss my home so much. I didn't want to move here but we had to anyway because dad wanted to move and my mother as usual followed his orders like she always did.

I tossed my long brown hair over my shoulder as I put my headband back and straightened my hair as I slipped on my brown flats and looked around the neighborhood and I could see a young man around my age walking over to me and I smiled as he pushed his sunglasses back and I responded," Hi, I'm Rorie Walker."

As soon as he came in clear view, I smiled at his handsome face as he winked at me and put his tennis racket behind him as I smiled when he wiped his mouth and I had a feeling that we would getting to know one another soon.

"Well hey there goregous."

I rolled my eyes and responded," Well aren't you modest?"

"It's true."

I smiled as he stuck his hand out and responded," Bruce Patman."

"Nice to meet you Bruce. I just moved here as you can tell, you should show me around sometime."

"I'd love to show you around."

Boy, this guy is something else. He wasn't too bad looking on the eyes but he was cocky much like myself. Yeah, I was rich girl but ask me if I'm snobby and I'd surely punch you in the face. Snobby wasn't was I into because I didn't want to end up in my mother's position and that was something that I'd dreaded that I would end up in.

He smiled as I responded," I'm guessing you go to Sweet Valley High."

He nodded. "I do, I can't wait to get out of there."

"I bet not, I am starting my senior year there."

"Nice, same as me. I'll have to show you the ropes."

"See that you do."

He chuckled as I walked off and I knew that it wasn't the last time that I'd see Bruce Patman. As I walked into the house, I could see him still standing there and I turned around but then my dad walked in front of me and responded," Quit being a flirt and help your mother."

I rolled my eyes and walked over to the UHAUL and began unloading things from the truck as Bruce responded," What are you doing tomorrow?"

I smiled. "Unpacking but I did hope to have some free time to explore Sweet Valley. Did you want to show me around?"

"I did but that's only if you want to hang out with me."

I snorted. "Oh Bruce, I am not the kind of girl you think I am."

He smiled. "See you tomorrow sweetheart."

"Bye Bruce."

"Hey, I forgot to mention. You got yourself a nice car."

I smiled looking at my red beauty and responded," Ain't she beautiful? She's my baby."

"Is she now?"

"She most certinaly is."

Before he could say anything, I heard my father yell," Rorie! Quit flirting and get in here!"

"Coming daddy dearest."

I couldn't hear Bruce's response as I began helping my mother and she looked at me and asked," Who were you talking to?"

"Bruce Patman, he's our next door neighbor mom but dad ruined it by being his usual self."

"Sweetie, will you try to get a long with your father?"

I stopped and looked at her and responded," Mother, I've tried to get along with him since my freshman year in high school and nothing has happened. He's a workaholic who could care less about us."

"Sweetie, stop it."

"Whatever, I'm going to take my stuff upstairs."

I grabbed three of my boxes and took them upstairs and passed my father but I didn't say anything to him, I hated him. He didn't care about us, he only cared about himself and what was best for him. I had to wonder if this was such a good move at all and I hoped that whatever happened, I would at least be able to live a happier life.
