Sydney couldn’t believe she was being called at this hour. This was supposed to be her day off from the bookshop. As she drove back into town, she simmered on why she hadn’t heard from Mac in over a day. It wasn’t like him to not be in contact in some form or other, whether that was a text, phone call, or stopping the store after school with ReyAnne. As she parked near the shop, she saw the lights on from in the store. “What in the world, who left the lights on!” she thought to herself. She was going to talk to talk to her part-time employee, Hannah about tonight. She walked up the steps and unlocked the door, “Hannah?!” she called out. All of a sudden, from the romance section, Mac walked out. Sydney gasped, “What are you doing here and where is Hannah?”
Mac grinned, “Sorry for making you worry. I had her call you.” “Call me for what? What’s going on Mac?” Sydney replied. Mac smiled. “Every day since you accused me of stealing right here, you have surprised me. Every day since our French meal, you have shown me knew things. And watching you with ReyAnne, you have shown me unconditional love. I love you Sydney” and he dropped down to one knee, “will you marry me?” Sydney, her eyes tearing, gasped. “Oh Mac!” She knelt down to him and smiled. “Yes, I will marry you!”
