This is my big huge post of all the reasons why everyone should watch Star Trek Voyager. It’s the best show for a number of reasons, but most of all these two: Seven of Nine and Captain Kathryn Janeway. The are just epicly epic. Read on and you’ll understand. :D

Decorate for the Holidays: (ca. 2382)
“Mommy, I want to put Voyager on the tree.”
Kathryn moved to lift little Erin, but Seven forestalled her, hoisting her subunit up herself.
“Kathryn, I’m pregnant, not handicapped.”
“I know…”
“Where did you get this ornament anyway?”
“Uhm…from Owen Paris. He thought it’d be cute…”
“It doesn’t have the paint smudge.” Erin astutely pointed out, causing Kathryn to wince and Seven to release a rare peal of laughter.
(Re: the paint smudge - Chakotay scraped the Golden Gate Bridge when landing it. I had a little comic to that effect but tumblr ate it)
Cuddle: (ca 2382)
“Hmm~” Kathryn Janeway hummed happily as she dropped down on her knees and pressed an ear to Seven’s tummy.
“Kathryn, what are you doing?”
“I just like to imagine hearing her little heart beat. How’s my little princess?”
Seven bit back the urge to point out that it was at least 2 weeks before organogenesis, and therefore there was no “little heart” present as of yet. Instead she hugged her spouse closer, appreciating the uncharacteristically uninhabited display of affection.
Read books: (ca 2382)
Gretchen Janeway, hearing spirited whispers coming from the living room, peered in to find her eldest daughter and daughter-in-law huddled together at the coffee table. Looking towards the mantle, she noticed the leather-bound geneology of the Janeway family was taken down.
“What are you girls up to now?”
It pleased Gretchen that she could still make her seasoned Starfleet officer of a daughter jump.
“We- are looking at names of previous Janeways.”
“An inspiration for a baby name, perchance?”
It pleased Gretchen even more to see her two daughters (for she had mentally adopted Annika as one of her own the first time they had met) smile sweetly at each other like newlyweds.
“Any luck?”
“Well…”
“Elizabeth is a good name. Named after two queens of England and it’s her own mother’s middle name.”
“Elizabeth Janeway was a 20th century feminist writer.”
Gretchen and Kathryn stared at Seven, who shrugged.
Drink Coffee/Tea: (ca 2378)
“Hold out your hand, Kathryn.”
Bemused at the unceremonious greeting from Seven upon returning home from work, Kathryn Janeway did as she was told. Into her hand Seven deposited a small red fruit, almost like a cherry. Janeway regarded it with curiosity, then looked into the eyes of her beloved, awaiting an explanation.
“This is from the plant that yielded the coffee I’ve been serving for the past week, the coffee that you said you would like to drink every day. Now that I’ve worked out the genetic sequence, growing conditions, and the roast that yields the exact drink each time, you can have it every day, for the rest of our lives. That is, if you’re agreeable to it.”
Kathryn took a few minutes to turn over what Seven had just said. Then it dawned on her.
“Seven, baby…” She licked her suddenly dry lips. “Are you proposing to me with a coffee plant that’s specifically engineered to my tastes?”
“Perhaps.”
“Yes. YES. One thousand times yes. In fact, you should start introducing yourself as Mrs. Janeway…”

If you MUST ogle while she’s right beside you, don’t make it worse by licking your lips and mouthing ‘yum’.
