Day 11

((I haven't forgotten about this meme, really))

Today's entry is in honor of the fact that this character really started talking to me again this weekend, and now he and another character in Pale Moon will have their very own prequel! Not sure how long it's going to be yet-- probably novella length, if that-- but I'll be putting it up as a freebie download once I'm done with it as an introduction to the universe.

Naveen Andrews
Alan Bishop, from Pale Moon

Part of the cleanup crew at Abigail's. He keeps odd hours, which Elspeth puts up with given the whole 'vampire' thing. Nobody's exactly sure how old he is, or when he was Turned. He doesn't say much, thinking that keeping to himself will get people to leave him alone. Instead, it seems to flip a "I can change him and he will love me forever!" switch in some of the clientele.

Also cast as:

Xavierre, from Stealing Time
He took on a job as a Guard as a favor to his best friend. While something like that works out in a small, nonviolent village, being assigned the same post on a spaceship where everybody hates everybody else and there's a murderer lurking somewhere on board doesn't go so well. He does the best he can, but truth is he'd rather be in Temple or flirting with his longtime friend, Maia.

Poseidon, from the Greek Pantheon series
He's long suspected that Zeus rigged the contest that left him in charge of Olympus, while Hades was sent to the Underworld and he himself was basically banished to the ocean. He just doesn't care much, because he prefers to be far away from there. Given the minor river Gods always vying for more territory, the nymphs' constant practical jokes, and Circe insisting on continuing to turn random sailors into animals no matter how many times he's lectured her about it, he's got his hands full. He didn't even know about the first War until a few weeks after it was over. Unfortunately for his peace of mind, he's not going to be able to stay out of it this time around.
