So, it is only the second day of training and already I feel like I've gone through 10 days of school. Seriously, there's so much things to read up on (who would've thought huh) and questions to answer, some of which are really silly. To me at least. And I keep getting confused by the technical terms of everything. Like on this occasion, this one girl was helping me (ie letting me copy off her book) with the questions and she started rambling on(they all seem to have a tendency to do that, read:Addy the male manager) about towels and tables. She then mentioned something about the towels usually being placed under the kfhdifedlkjdskl (gibberish to me) and waved a hand in the general direction of the bar.
Huh? What I heard came out of her mouth sounded vaguely like llama soka.
A Japanese llama of sorts?? I assumed it was the abstract artsy paintings on the wall, perhaps a picture of a really really deformed llama. And I guess if I really put my mind to it, it does sort of start to resemble a four-legged creature. Somehow.
Nonetheless, I waited for her to finally finish talking and politely asked what in Sir Elton John's name was that and how in blue hell do you pronounce it? All done very nicely and meekly of course. So after a couple of repeats and scribbling, I finally found out that the llama thing was indeed, not a llama soka as I suspected. But rather, a La-Marzocca (I totally had to go check the book for that spelling), that machine thing used to make espresso shots or something. Pfft
And really? Is my name that difficult to pronounce? x-i-n y-i, it consists of 5 letters! And yet, the manager guy has troubles remembering it and has taken to calling me Sara. Sara!
