There's no need for the border, really, IMO. Scripts (and I know because I work with them quite often) are usually a blank page with the writing in the format you've shown us. I would say, take our suggestions into consideration and then make them work into whatever is easiest for you. =)

The border is just for aesthetics more than anything else. Since it's not on the written page but a computer screen, I thought the black background would tidy up the look of the whole page, focusing the eye onto the transcript. Truth is, I can't decide whether it looks better with or without! It might depend on how the new layout looks. We'll see.

As a writer and a long time user of Word, might I suggest you set up a special Word (or wordprocessor-of-your-choice) template for scripts that also incoporates a toolbar with a series of personalised macro buttons?

I have a fanfiction template that automatically incorporates all the usual header info (all I have to insert are the title, character list, rating and Author Notes) and also includes a toolbar with macro buttons to insert the opening and closing tags for italics, bolding, etc. that I regularly use, and to insert regularly used names (eg. Martha Jones, The Doctor, Jack Harkness, etc.)

It can take a little while to set up, but once you have it set up, it would probably speed up the coding process by a large percentage...

Well, I didn't actually know such a thing could be done with word! My concern is the final file size - there's a 200KB limit on my hosting site, and webpages generated by word do tend to be quite large. Would that be the case, do you know?

Well I've got the script for "Smith and Jones" that RTD made available free online and I converted it to Word format (from a PDF) and it's 145KB. The TW "Reset" transcript that beccaelizabeth provided and I saved as a Word file is 75KB...

So I think you'd probably be OK - I guess it just depends how much detail you put in to them?

The thing is, it's not the size of the word file that might be a problem - a webpage, made in word but saved in HTML format, tends to be a lot larger than it needs to be. I may have to resort to teaching myself CSS. Sigh!

I can't get the site to work for me. :( Is the site down?

Nope :/ Because it's only free hosting though, it does tend to go funny sometimes, but if you refresh it, it usually works.

Oh. Don't know what's wrong, then, because I kept trying yesterday and it's still not working. Can I see a screencap perhaps?

Sure, here you go.

Is it the whole site you can't access or just that sample page?

I love it, i think it's great and really focuses the eye on the actual transcript. And woopwoop for updating the site again! I viseted it everyday in hope that it would be updated.

I have question lol. Would you sill use pictures/images? On the site you say that you would need someone to help make graphics, and i was wondering if i could perhaps elp? I love making Doctor Wo graphics and have been doing it for over 2 years now, nd i really would love to help out with one of my fave sites.

Sooo... Again, so happy its up nd away again, nd i love the idea or the basic, traditional transcript XD xxx

Excellent! =D I can't wait 'til my exams are finished so I can really go to town on it ;)

As far as the graphics go... no, I probably wouldn't be using them any more. Not for this format. Thanks ever so much for offering, though - I checked out your graphics and they are very, very awesome! Would've looked good. But no, I wasn't planning to use page headers. That's not to say I won't change my mind over the summer though, so what say I keep you posted?
