Kite (8)

Jun 12, 2019 00:22

Rejected sunlight creeps between the blinds

To pander of the glory it once held

It splashes off the tile and finds split eyes

The hapless surrogate, fate has befell

A chain unending with no start or stop

Links emanating from the boundless bare

That graceless, pointless, soulless, careless pop

To pin me down and plead that I should care

Indifference is the currency of life

Become too tangled, caveat emptor

To shake and wither like a tethered kite

A foolish windmill chaser’s cards unfurled

With stone tied to the chest, wading to sea

Slave’s prayer on bated breath in disbelief
