tonight doesn't mean the rest of my life.

today's bad life choice would be ditching both my classes, including my miss-it-and-you'll-fail-slash-die journalism class. however, i was up until 3:30 am last night and i simply couldn't bring myself to get out of bed at 8 am, attend class until 1:30, and then go to work at 9:30 on four and a half hours of sleep. shit can't hang.

but why was i up until 3:30 am, you ask? oh, no reason...except for that i was at an ADVANCED SCREENING OF HARRY POTTER AND THE GOBLET OF FIRE!!! man. i think i'll wait until i see it again this weekend to review/squeal over it, but let me just say this right now: OMG WTF.

oh, and fine, here's a semi-review (aka disjointed random comments) for now:

portkey scene was well-done, i thought. fairly accurate portrayal of its effects.

quidditch world cup=short, but frickin' sweet. slightly dissapointed at the lack of veelas/leprechauns, but meh.

death eaters @ quidditch world cup=scary as fuck. the dark mark looks pretty cool, though.

one of the only major inconsistencies i noticed was that when harry sends a letter to sirius he writes "sirus black" on the envelope. um...no. he's in hiding, remember?

ron no longer looks like he shops at the gap; i was quite pleased to see the return of the mrs.weasley "R" sweaters.

pretty much everything with the weasley twins=LOVE IT.

cedric diggory=hott.

fleur has like one actual, not-in-french line during the entire film. kind of funny.

dancing lessons with ron and mcgonagall=priceless. neville=too adorable.

harry's interactions with cho=adorably awkward.

ferret malfoy=hysterical. loved it. mad-eye moody was overall fantastic, though i'm not sure since when his magic eye had zoom capabilities.

dragon challenge=a bit over the top, but well played.

yule ball=fantastic. the sexual tension between ron and hermione is through the roof. ron's dress robes are unfortunate but damn funny.

rita skeeter=portrayed perfectly, though the whole animagus subplot was cut out.

prefect's bathroom scene=marvelous (you see daniel radcliffe's nipples!)

lake challenge=pretty effing sweet, though the aftereffects of the grindylow attack made harry look like he had a hickey, priceless.

maze challenge=pretty good, no sphinx, but meh.

maze portkey/graveyard scene=extremely accurate. ralph fiennes as voldemort was just awesome.

but yeah. overall, i was very satisfied. i thought it was a really good adaptation of the book.

fuck. i have to go to work in an hour and i have to take my lip ring out for the first time because our shitty district manager might show up and piercings aren't allowed.

and i found out that one of my friends is going to move in with me next semester since my current roommate is studying abroad. which is lovely because i didn't want another random roommate. it may induce some drama though, just because my friend's moving out of her room because she's not getting along too well with some of her other roommates who are our friends as well, but whatever. we'll see. lately everyone has just needed to kind of chill the fuck out, in my opinion.

oh, and for the time being i'm keeping my english/communications double major, even though all the comm courses pretty much blow.

i registered for classes yesterday; semester two is as follows:

monday, wednesday, friday:
british literature (romantics and victorians)9:10-10:10
small group communication 11:00-12:00
persuasion 1:20-2:20

tuesday and thursday:
graphic design 8:00-11:10
figure skating 1:30-3:00

not too bad. i'm not terribly stoked about an eight am course, but i'll make do. and figure skating (which is one of those non-credit gym classes we have to fulfill the human performance gen ed)is a half-semester course that doesn't start until march, so up to that point i'll be done at eleven on tuesdays and thursdays. and after that point i won't be able to walk due to repeated incidences of me falling on my ass.

anyway. you're all terribly interested, i'm sure. i have to get ready for work, barf.
