summer days drifting away....
so my summer has been going ok I guess. The drafting job went stright down the hole. The guy was kind of a jerk, wouldn't ever call back, when he finally did... I will admit I was supposed to go in early around 7ish to talk to him, didn't make it till after 8:30, yes bad me, looks really bad, I applogized, but he was brief and short with me cuz he was busy and understood, but it was more of what he had to say.... he was going to throw me in the back corner with a broken light (he added that part) on some ragged old drafting table, answering phones and doing some meaningless work. For less then 10 bux an hour.... ie: I can go work in the shoe department of macys with out having to use an ounce of brain power for like 8.30 an hour. So screw doing work that actually means something and it being a trained skill that not anyone can just do for like 6 bux an hour. So I just nicely called him the next morning when he asked me to come in and of course he was "too busy" to answer the phone, I was trying to be nice and do the right thing and call him personally. I waited almost 2 hours for him to call me back, he didn't so, I said I didn't have time for that, so I just emailed him and said thanks but no thanks. And haven't heard from him back so thats cool with me. lol
in place of that work I have been helping dan out a lot around the paintball field. Reffing every day I can, playing a little on sundays and digging holes and fixing the fields, good stuff. Dan's a good guy. We have a tourney coming up this sunday... just hoping enough teams show to make it worth anything... cuz the winners get a new mask.. which I'd appreciate. So we'll see how it goes. This past sunday was a huge team practice. Good lessons in learning. I need to do some more one on one work with my self to take that big step in getting better, but its hard with just playing for the summer, then not touching the stuff the whole time I'm gone in WV and then coming home in the summer and picking it up again... so hopefully I can find some place I like up in wv to stick with my skills.
I just made a deal with my daddy tonight. I've been really wanting a new bat... I guess I've had the one I've had for about 2 years now. Its been a good bat to me, but the technology is just ok. I want to update my self to some new technology and see if it helps me out any. So.... its been known for the last 2 years or more that my dad has started projects around the house, most of them outside, that he either started and stopped, or only had "plans" to make happen, so I told him since I'm not working a job job (just the weekends with dan) that I'd work around the house if at the end of the summer he'd get me the bat I wanted. And that def. got a quick yes out of him, lol. So I'm kind of pumped and motivated. Hard work outside = helping my conditioning and strength, as a lot of it is hard labor work outside. There are some things that I could "engineer" to help fix as well, so I'm going to try and be the handy person around the house for the last month and a half. I think I'm going to give my self monday's off, lol. Cuz that will be 4 days during the week working around the house... both days of the weekend reffing paintball/playing... so monday would be a nice day off, lol.
Meanwhile behind all of that I'm focusing my self down to working out... yes I've been saying this for over a month... but I started getting my work out on the weekends with the paintball, so I put it on the back burner.... but I have a new flame lit now and worked out for about 20 minutes today.... and got back on my new found softball conditioning webpage that is freaking amazing and tells me everything I ever wanted to know and why things work the way they work, and whats important to work on for my sport and all that good stuff. So we'll see how good I follow through with it. Since my softball coach hasn't sent a work out yet, so I'm scrapping his ideas and going wtih mine, lol.
um... I guess thats about it. Mom comes home from NY tomorrow with her sister. So it will be fun having my aunt around. She's so funny and tells it like it is. lol. But I guess thats about the extent of my summer so far.
