I decided a while back that we needed a better container composter, mainly for kitchen waste, because the one we have is a piece of junk that's falling apart.
Since Ed just allowed me a garden grant, I picked one that got good reviews and looked sturdy, with a metal exterior. It's a "tumbling" composter, with handles to spin it with, insulation to keep the warmth and moisture in, and two compartments, so you fill one and then while it's "cooking", you can start filling the other. In other words, somewhat "fancy".
It came Fed Ex yesterday, and the package was flat and heavy, which made me think , "uh-oh, hard to assemble". But today I bravely opened it and started assembling it and, while some parts were heavy and I had to prop the whole thing up to work on it, I got it together and it only took a couple of hours and a sore hand from screwing in 24 hard to turn screws, that hold the panels together (I think I may have a blister). Now I just have to put down some pavers in it's final resting place, so it won't sink into the earth, haul it over them, and we're in business!
Dirt, I makes it.
