Write a paragraph about yourself I'm 21 and a senior in college. Someone posted about this group in the June group that I belong to so I figured I'd apply. It seemed like a cool group. I'm an English major with a History minor. I'm going to be a music journalist someday and write for Alternative Press, and when I graduate from college, I'm moving far, far away from the Midwest to Boston with my best friend and my cat. I have 16 piercings and no tattoos. I have alot of pets: 2 cats (Pepper and Tobey), 2 hamsters (Atreyu and Bastian), 2 fish (Starsky and Hutch), and two turtles (Tolstoy and Lemo). I'm a really bad driver but I can bake like a pro so I guess it evens out. Music is my life. It's my passion, and my driving force in everything I do. I never ever judge people based on what music they like because I think that all music has merit, even if it doesn't exactly float my boat. I'm always down for anything and I will do whatever it takes to make my friends smile. I would bend over backwards for anyone who needed me. I don't feel like I should have to explain or justify myself to anyone, just like I don't expect anyone to justify or explain themselves to me. I really just want to go out and have fun with my life. We have the next 30-40 years to be grown up and mature, so let's take this time now and go out and have a blast. Who's with me?

Opinions:
Abortion- Don't tell me what to do with my body, and I won't tell you what to do with yours. We all have free will and it's up to us to use it how we choose. I don't believe in partial birth abortions and I don't think you should kill a baby in the third trimester because by that point, you're just being lazy. Make your decision and stick with it, but for God's sake don't tell me how to make mine.
Premarital sex- I'm not married. I'm not a virgin. Be safe, be smart, be prepared for anything. If you're ready for the possible consequences, then I say go for it. It can be fun but don't let pressure be your rationale for doing it, just like you shouldn't let the guilt or stigma imposed by outside sources be your rationale for avoiding it. I don't believe that you should feel bad or guilty for doing it. If it wasn't what you expected, then chalk it up to a learning experience. If you want to wait until marriage, then do that too. But do what makes you happy first and foremost. Think of it this way: if we weren't meant to do it, then it wouldn't feel good.
Drugs and alcohol- I drink socially but I don't do drugs. As you can probably tell, I have a "live and let live" approach to life. A good portion of my friends do drugs, and my only rule is don't do them in front of me. If you expose me to something and put me in an uncomfortable position, then I'll get mad. I've always been curious about drugs, but the fact is that I work too many jobs where doing drugs would screw me over royally, and besides, I guess it's just not for me. No biggie.
Gossip-
What do you like about each mod, don't half ass it and say, "Oh, you're so pretty".
_disconnecktie- From your picture and the way it's taken, I think you look like a fun kind of person. You're not afraid to laugh at yourself. You genuinely care about this community and you work hard to maintain it. It's nice to see people actively working on something they love. Also, you went to see DLD in concert and I like them. I also like Sherwood. So good job.
nvrgrwupinlife- You seem like a genuinely sweet person. You care about your friends and you appreciate them, and they probably appreciate you just as much in return. You're enthusiastic about this site, and it leads me to believe you're probably enthusiastic about alot of things in life. You get people excited because you're excited.
sugarpuss- First of all, your LJ icon is from the Labyrinth. Anyone who likes that movie rocks, in my opinion. Second of all, I read back pretty far into this journal and I respect that fact that you don't seem like the kind of person to take any shit. I think you feel like you should be able to do what you want to do without having to justify it, and I think that's totally rockstar of you. Go you for having your own views and opinions.

Why should we accept you?- I'm online alot so I always have stuff to write. I also am always up for making new friends and having new people to talk to, and I think I'm pretty nice and approachable.
What should we do to improve this community?- Get it out there more...if this thing has been around for a while and I'm just finding out about it (and I'm always on LJ) then you need to promote it more!
