Okay, like, proper update time.

Starting with last week, when I left off. After the dentist appointment of bankrupty doom last Tuesday, Tigger and I went to see Cloverfield which was pretty good, enjoyable enough at least. After that we went to the airport to see Brendan and Graham back off to Europe. Hearing them talk about their plans for the year, I got jealous and tried to convince Tigger to become a famous jouster so we could jet set around Europe's medieval festivals in style. His response? "Don't tempt me." Nic and Istar, who organised the joust (with lots of help from Hawkwind and Wendy) were also there (as were Hawkwind and Wendy) so we also chatted about the joust, and what their plans are for next year. It was a nice evening.

On Waitangi Day, Tigger and I went out for breakfast (I had very small waffles that tasted like beer, and were actually quite revolting) and then to Takapuna beach. On the way, we got waylaid first by Vagabonds where I bought Munchkin Cthulhu (YAY) and a few Magic cards. Then we were waylaid by a cleverly positioned bookstore, where I picked up a few Janet Evanovich books for my Mum. She's read all thirteen Stephanie Plum books, and I've just started "Hard Eight". Anyway, Tigger and I lounged on the beach for a bit, then chilled out at his house. It was very cruisy. Thursday, I was at work and then spent th evening sewing my Serenity costume, which I think is coming together okay.

On Friday I went to the Battlecry larp that was written by darksonfollower and played Lady Vanessa Shingleton, who was wealthy but tragically unhappy in her marriage to Sir Michael Shingleton (played by raphael_harker since he was cheating on her with that poor soprano who got squashed during the performance by a falling lighting rig. It was an enjoyable evening, and after spending the whole night trying to cover up Sir Michael's affair (and later finding out he was doing the same), I got revenge on him by giving the incriminating photos to everyone to humiliate him. Thus, the score was even, the Shingletons reconciled and moved to New York (since their reputation in London was ruined)

Not much to report from the weekend. I mostly slept and read a lot. Tigger and I had a romantic comedy double feature on Saturday evening, watching "Knocked Up" and "You've Got Mail" (latter being one of my favourite movies ever, shut up). Sunday, we caught up with Matt and Kim. Today I worked some more on my Serenity dress, and now all I've got left is the skirt and zipper, then it's finished (unless there's some colossal muck-up I haven't yet noticed)

On the larping front, I'm working away on March's edition of Immersion and there's been a Nightmare Circle game announced for the weekend after next so it's like, squee. I have a committee meeting to attend on Wednesday, which I am attending with a ruthlessly optimistic frame of mind. I'm presenting a new project idea I've had, which I'll expand on later, after it's hopefully been approved.

In other words keeping busy, missing uni, frittering away my time on fiction.
