Sticky Post
At long last, here is an actual sticky-post. (Last update: December 2009)
My LJ is largely friends-only. Public entries, as seen below, are largely book lists and similarly generic things. Friends-locked entries are more bloggy, "today I ate soup and then cried" kinds of entries.
If you are wondering if you do, in fact, know me: The list of schools in my profile is complete and accurate. They pretty much reflect how long I lived in each place, too, and thus should narrow the field a great bit.
Do you want to be my friend?: The good news is that I no longer talk about math quite as much. I also don't update as much as I used to; my LJ is most frequently used for reading my friendslist. Most entries concern things that immediately greatly annoy me while watching TV or sitting in class (which are largely anachronisms or misuse of good words/quotes by newscasters) or occasional entries on how I fail at life or at being Google-able. Also, I have a running series of "famous people I frequently confuse/conflate." As you can see, I'm super fun. (Oh, and sometimes when I cook something really good, I rave about it for a while.)
I do occasionally pepper entries with French or Hungarian; I'm not very good at Hungarian, so if that will drive you up the wall, well, consider yourself warned.
In general, leave a note and there's a reasonable chance I will friend you back. Unless you know the rest of my family better than me, because my LJ goes back to high school and some of it is embarrassing. ;-)
