http://www.zippyvideos.com/5420650945756206/granada/ (there was a festival going on while we were there and one night there was an orchestra playing in the square by the cathedral. it was one of those whaatthowcanitbethisperfectican'tbelievei'mactuallyhere moments. so i had to make a video. put the sound on.)
one of the most beautiful places i have ever been. it's ridiculously beautiful. the alhambra palace is huge huge and every inch of every wall is hand-carved with arabic writing. the tiny streets by the market have old lamps hanging above your head and colour hanging all around you. everywhere has a balcony. we stayed right next to El Parque De Garcia Lorca, which was full of flowers and fountains. we went there every day to sunbathe, but you could only stay in the sun for 10 minutes at a time because it was so hot. on our last day there it was 38 degrees. granada is one of the only places in spain where you get free tapas with your drinks. we had flamenco lessons, which were so funny because we were all awful. four of the people from my college who i spent most of the week with were some of the funniest people i've ever met, so i didn't need to dread going like i did. though i did miss you all. it feels so strange to be writing about it now, after glade, benicassim and santander. but you'll just have to wait for them.
