Name: Oliver "Ozzer" Perks (Private Perks, Private Parts, Acting Sergeant)
Age: 18
Height: Unknown. Not very tall, but possibly taller than Maladict, who is described as being the slight one, and who Oliver can carry over his shoulder.
Weight: Unknown. Has been mistaken for being a boy as young as 14, so probably quite light, still in the "stick" phase of adolescence
Medical Info: I am not putting this under a cut, because when it's on the dust jacket it's not a spoiler. Oliver is a girl. This explains "his" youthful looks and strong-but-small build. By the way, her name is Polly. As a woman, she's quite... under-endowed. Canonically does not need to bind to pass for a man, and hasn't got enough of an arse to pinch.
Eyes: Unknown. Colored artwork seems to favor brown?
Hair: Golden blonde. Glorious and curly when it was long, but since she hacked it all off, "his" hair is very uneven and probably sticks out every which-way.
Physical traits: Polly is coming into camp as Oliver. I'm actually taking him from the middle of the battle for the Keep (right in the middle of the scene where they meet the zombies), which involved his regiment dressing up as washerwomen. But as soon as he found himself back in the open and with the possibility of meeting a patrol he would have changed back into his uniform. Which. Uh. I don't know, his pack was MYSTERIOUSLY there too, okay? >_> His uniform has a high collar and, as mentioned above, he really does not have a feminine figure. However, it's also stated in canon that a great part of the reason Polly is able to pass for a boy is because women in Borogravia never dress like men. Obviously, this doesn't hold true in camp, so if you want your character to know or suspect IT'S A TRAP, go right ahead.
At this point, I don't have a long-term plan for how Polly/Oliver will identify herself in camp. Polly is not transexual. She doesn't have any reason for hiding her gender beyond that in her country, men can do all kinds of things women can't- like write and inherit property and join the army. However, there's the problem of being suddenly sent back there, the fact that Polly has come to consider her disguise a form of armor, plus she's going to be in major culture shock anyway. She'll definitely at least talk to Mal before taking off that uniform. ANYWAY. I'd rather wing it and see what comes of her intro to camp. I will edit these stats as needed at a later date.
What's Okay To Mention Around Him/Her: Did I mention the culture shock? Oliver is going to be in major culture shock throughout his intro to camp and possibly beyond. Discworld is a very unique canon, spanning almost 40 books at an estimate? As the series progresses, the nations on the Disc are rocketed through cultural advancement at an incredible pace. Discworld starts as kind of a middle ages fantasy spoof and ends as early 20th century ...fantasy... social commentary. READ IT. Borogravia is a very backwards country, but even it has more of a 19th century colonial feeling, particularly where the army is concerned. STILL.
Just as an example: Polly has never seen a newspaper before the start of MR. She's one of few commoners in her country who could read one if the opportunity presented itself. The most advanced form of communication available is the telegraph- which Nuggan, god of Borogravia, has declared an abomination because all those messages flying through the air get in the way of the prayers people are sending him.
In short, almost anything you mention is going to confuse Oliver. Please bear with him while he stares at you like you've grown a second head.
Abilities: Good with truncheons and subtlety. Bad at shaving and confrontations that don't go according to plan.
Notes for the Psychics: Always thinks of himself as Polly
Can I shapeshift/bodyswap/spit at/step on/etc?: Please ask before doing anything too extreme, but yes.
Maim/Murder/Death: I'd like to take this on a case by case basis.
Cooking: Worked in a bar/inn, and as such can probably make a passable Stoo and Biscuits, etc.
