ha. people have yet to solve it. and this isn't that hard as the billard ball problem. not nearly.

hokay, so. you have 12 billard balls, and a scale. the scale is used to measure things agains each other, like billard ball 1 vs. billard ball two and shows whether they are even or not. one of the twelve billard balls is slightly heavier OR slightly lighter than the rest. you can use the scale three times. determine which ball it is (without doubt) and whether it is lighter or heavier.

ya, thats the answer. strangely enought, i had just finished the problem when i got that little ding of the email. funny. and thats no fair, that you used colin. actually, i might have got it before, ask marc. i think we solved it in the car. maybe. i can't really remember. anything before the 16th is all a blur.
