PG. Lotrpf, Sharpe. Elijah and Teresa. A mention of HP.

Thel Concilio.

You thought they were gimped out by now. Thought they were just a bunch of old fellas sitting in London with nothing to do but talk about the good old days, except with accents and more magick.

Except, well, the report you've just finally managed to decrypt after spending all night working on it, the one from London, the top secret Army missive, that there says a little differently.

The vampire corps, you knew that was real. England didn't like to talk about it, just like none of the countries like to talk about them, and uninformed citizens don't even know about 'em, but people like you who've spent your mornings and afternoons and evenings hacking, you know these things. You're on the trolley. They're kept on an island, maybe in Azkaban, even, somewhere in the North Sea. Sent on secret missions against Boney and his vampires. Been around pretty much as long as Boney has, because they were in the war then, and you know she knows about it except she doesn't wanna talk about it.

But she will now, maybe, possibly, or at least she'll give you something to work with, because she'll have to ask what you're grinning about when you pull your cheaters off, stick them in your pocket, and hand her the decrypted message.

And wait.

And she doesn't say jack.

She just stares at the missive, and smiles, that weird smile thela Aguja gets sometimes, the one where you can understand how she's fought Boney for two hundred plus years and still hasn't got dead.

"So," you say.

She looks at you now and smiles. "You have done well," is all she says.

Yeah. Thanks a bunch. That tells you absolutely jack, though, again.

"I thought the Watchers were gimped," you say, prompting her. She's way too smart to fall for a stupid human kid's attempt at a mind game, so it's not an attempt at a mind game, and hopefully she'll just take it as a hint.

"They are," she says. "Compared with their former power."

Okay.

"Okay," you say expectantly.

She smiles. "This means," she says, "that I was right."

Okay.

"Okay," you say again.

"I am frustrating you, Elijah," she says, and it's not a question.

You shrug, and scuff the floor of the cavern with your toe.

A soft laugh, and she kisses your cheek. Which is not an answer, but at least she's not pissed off, so you figure that's something.

"You will see in time," is all she says. "For now, though, I must find some spare rooms."

You look at her curiously, and she grins, and there's something more to it than cleverness, but hell if you know what, because if anyone's good at playing their cards close to the chest, it's Teresa.

"My husband," she says as she walks off to confer with some of the other vamps, "is coming to Infierno."
