I'm trying to gather information about magic from all worlds. I'd be interested to hear anything you learn about your abilities, if that's all right.

...What do the mages in the Coliseum do?

Oh, yes, that's fine with me. Have I told you anything about magicite yet...?

The Mages are basically there to provide visual effects and to keep magical barriers in place. Oh, and break up fights if they get too serious.

Yes... it's the substance left behind when Espers die, right? You said most humans needed it to learn magic.

Oh, I see. So the Coliseum is really more of a performance than a contest?

Yes. I'm sorry, many people have been asking me about it, so I wasn't sure if I had described it to you as well. Without magicite, no one would be able to learn magic. At least... unless there were special circumstances.

It seems that way. Though I believe the winners are paid better.

You've mentioned these 'special circumstances' before. Have you learned any more about them?

Oh, I see... That makes sense.

...Yes. If a human and an Esper have a child, the child will be able to use magic naturally.

[Daniel isn't sure how to respond to that; Terra is more or less telling him that she is half-Esper, but he doesn't want to make her any more uncomfortable by pursuing the subject.]

...That makes sense. I hadn't thought of the possibility that humans and Espers could have children together.

[She's quiet for a bit, aware of what she's just said, but not willing to confirm it out loud yet.]

Some of them are nearly human in the way they look, while others more closely resemble beasts. There are many different kinds.

I see... so Espers are a completely different kind of being, then? It would make sense that they don't reproduce with humans often, then.

[It doesn't seem like she can say it... From Daniel's point of view, she's still Terra even if she's part Esper, but he can't say it's not normal that she'd be unwilling to say the words.]

...It must be a relief to have an answer to your questions about yourself.

Yes. I haven't remembered why yet, however.

[She just nods slowly, unsure of what to say.]

Well... at least we've all remembered something. It doesn't look like you'll be stuck without that knowledge forever.

[He'd probably have reacted similarly if it was him, but that doesn't help him think of what to say. He has to say something; otherwise, they're back to ignoring the issue.]

...You do know that it doesn't matter to me what... race you are?

True. I only wish I knew, though...

I... I had hoped, but...
