Shuffling down the sidewalk, Clark Kent was frantically going over the options in his mind. It appeared that he was inexplicably losing his powers. It wasn't a lack of sun; he'd spent his usual amount of time outside, recharging his cellular batteries. Nor was it Kryptonite: none of the accompanying pain, and the localization of the effect. He recalled nothing unusual about his trajectory through the skies of Metropolis, had sensed no danger, moreover, had felt none.
The air had just given way under him and he'd plummeted 300 feet to the ground.
Perhaps he'd been flying too close to the sun. He stopped in an alleyway to discreetly check his laser vision-- sporadic. He tried to see through a wall, and immediately felt a headache coming on at the strain. Mild panic was starting to set in, but he quashed it. He'd find a way out of this.
With Lex's help. He entered the building and took the elevator up to Lex's floor, keeping track of his remaining powers until he pressed the buzzer.
