Who: Batman, Batwoman, Commissioner Gordon
Where: The police station
What: A body
"You never talk about your childhood," Leland said, breaking the thirty minute-long silence.
Bruce said nothing and continued staring straight ahead, listening to the crackle of the police scanner as patrol units reported in. They were both sitting in the cockpit of the tumbler, parked in an alley on the outskirts of Gotham. In theory, they were waiting for one of the patrols to run into trouble that required more than just police backup. In reality, they had been in the same spot for an hour and a half.
"I think it might be good for you, to open up more," Leland continued, undeterred. "You'd be happier, more mentally healthy."
"Stop talking."
Leland smiled. "One day, we'll sit down and have a real therapy session. It's worked wonders for Harvey. Well, sort of."
The police scanner crackled. "All units, we have reports of a possible body in the alley at 10th and Mason. Is anyone nearby?" A few voices radioed in, and the scanner went silent again.
"That's not too far from us," Leland pointed out.
"We're staying here."
Leland sighed, and another fifteen minutes passed uneventfully. She was about start in on the benefits of psychotherapy when the scanner crackled to life again, the officer's voice on the other end sounding frazzled.
"Dispatch, dispatch, this is Officer DeLuna. The body in the alley at 10th and Mason, I think...it looks like...I think it's the Joker."
