I suppose the mystery of missing memories will remain just that! Ah, 'what is life without a little mystery'? I was never very fond of that saying~ It seems as if one is trying to avoid admitting that they find bliss in ignorance. No-one seems particularly bothered about searching for them, which is a unique approach to losing something, ( Read more... )

If you believe a trade with the 'scientists' is the solution, then perhaps you should take it yourself. No one else will, after all.

[no he is not slightly peeved what are you talking about]

Memories could well be the price paid for something else.

You believe the incident to be the result of a previously-made deal?

It's a possibility, isn't it?

I was not aware deals with these 'scientist' figures could be made; however, it seems unlikely the city as a whole would consent to such a deal.

It rather depends on what happened.

Of course, the simplest explanation would be that they have something to hide.

It would have to be something quite drastic. Something such as that would usually leave some trace, unless we are granting the scientists actual omnipotence.

If some sort of information leak occurred, it is occurring repeatedly at regular intervals.

Certainly, but even with a trace, one would have to know what to look for, and without memories of said events, knowing what to look for is rather difficult.

Which is curious in and of itself.

Difficult, but not impossible.

Perhaps and perhaps not. It could be a coverup of a coverup, ad nauseum. Without further concrete information to narrow down the field, one could spend a lifetime taking guesses.

Which is what I said.

Couldn't they, indeed.

Perhaps. You plan on searching?

They would be a fool, but an example. [he doesn't bother to specify what kind of example]

And what will you do with any results?

That quite depends on the results.
