[Public: USS Enterprise - Transporter Room 1]

The cosmetic differences, of course, were the first things he noticed because they were immediate and visual. The second thing, only a split-second behind, was the low and steady hum of the ship's engines through the superstructure, deckplates and everything else; he could hear it, a subtle sound most people tuned out. But it was Scott's job to listen for those sorts of things.

Different harmonies, different melodies, though they all agreed with one another and there wasn't any discord.

The third thing he noticed was the sheer lack of security. And that made him raise an eyebrow; the room was empty and he didn't hear anyone rushing to figure out what was going on. Well, on one side that was a good thing: He didn't particularly feel like getting phasered by some excitable security officer just for showing up. On the other side... who the Hell doesn't pay attention when a new lifesign comes aboard that isn't a registered crewmember?

Scotty just shook his head to himself, stepping lightly over to the transporter console and keeping an ear out for a security contingent he was still half-way expecting. Some similar layout, some different. He wondered a bit what was going through the heads of the designers of this vessel, though it wasn't particularly disparaging.

After a moment of studying the console, he carefully pulled up the shipwide network, going hunting for any mentions of his native Kirk, Spock and McCoy.

This might prove easier than he expected...

new enterprise, tos!scotty
