"If you had met my other half, you'd know exactly why it's not going to happen." He grinned.
He willingly shook Logan's hand. "And I'm Michael. I haven't seen Heather for a while, but if I remember correctly, last I saw her, she had a smile on her face that spoke volumes of what she thought of a man called Logan she had just met."
Returning the grin, "I can't tell you how happy I am to hear that!"
"It's a pleasure to meet you Michael." A happy smile touched his features that Heather had mentioned him in a good way in the beginning. "That's nice to hear, Thank you. I think she's pretty wonderful too."
Logan smiled, "Good, they're going good. We've been taking it easy the last couple of months... Getting to know each other better, that type of thing."
"Yeah, that does tend to happen. You step away from anything for a long enough period and everything changes. What type of work do you do?"
"I don't work at the moment. I've been spending time at home with my dog, relaxing, just recently. Prior to that I went on a trip, met a few people, changed a few things. Life needed re-direction, so I turned the steering wheel, that kind of thing."
Surprised not to hear any mention of Michael's partner, he asked, "You didn't spend time with your other half?"
"I'm a freelance investigator by trade, but I haven't accepted all that many cases lately." Smiling, "I was injured at the beginning of the summer and got used to spending my time with Heather. Haven't switched back into work mode yet."
"That can make things difficult. I don't think it's ever easy on the person left behind."
"Oh yeah..." Curious, "Mind if I ask why you gave it up?"
Smiling, "Yeah, that they do, but I wouldn't have it any other way!" A nod. "Yeah, it wasn't that bad of an injury. More of an inconvenience than anything else. Thanks."
"I'm happy to hear that it works out for you. It would be a breaking point for many."
A nod and partial shrug, "It's not really something you do forever is it?"
Laughing, "Oh no worries there. Heather always takes good care of me. Injury or no."
Logan shrugged, "As with most things in life, it really depends on what you mark by. We've known each other over a year, but I guess you could say we got together in the spring."
[OOC: Hee my muse seen this in my journal and insisted on responding. *hugs*]

He hesitated just briefly before smiling slightly. "Then we have something in common. I too, once upon a time, worked in that field."
"Partners have a way of diverting attention." Another slight smile. "You okay now?"

"Change in circumstances...a mixture of reasons." Another shrug. "My focus is on other things at the moment."
"That's good to hear. Otherwise I'd have to chase Heather up and demand to know why she wasn't here with some chicken soup." Grin.
"So how long you two been together now?" He frowned, trying to think back.

Another smile. "I'm sure she does. Serious?"

Tilting his head slightly the left. "I'm sorry, serious about what?"

A smile. "I'm not sure what she'd think if she heard you say that." Grin. "About your relationship. Pardon, my curiosity."
